# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # Suresh Wadkar’s 71st birthday-7st August’2024#

Today 7th August’2024 is the seventieth birth anniversary of singer Suresh Wadkar. He was born on 7th August’1954 in Kolhapur (Maharashtra). On this occasion here is a song from the movie ‘Paheli-1977’. I have earlier presented a detailed post about this ‘special voice’ of my ‘growing years’ and the many songs of Suresh Wadkar which are part of ‘memories’ on this blog.
“Paheli-1977” was directed by Prashant Nanda for ‘Rajshri Pictures, Bombay’. It had Satyajeet, Namita Chandra (debutant), Poornima Jayram (debutant), Durga Khote, A.K. Hangal, Dina Pathak, Leela Mishra, Nitin Sethi, Abha Dhulia, and Arun Govil (also a debutant) and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 17.11.1977.
“Paheli-1977” has six songs which were written by Ravindra Jain who also composed the music for this movie. Singer Suresh Wadkar made his singing debut with this movie. The other singers for this movie were Hemlata and Chandrani Mukherji. Suresh Wadkar had sung one solo song. He also has two duet songs with Hemlata, and one song with Hemlata and Chandrani Mukherji. Hemlata’s voice appears in five songs of this movie and the voice of Chandrani Mukherji is used in two songs of this movie.
Today’s song is nice song to listen to, though it is very rarely heard. I do not remember to have listened to this song earlier. I came across it recently when I was preparing my previous post from this movie.
This song is picturised on Satyajit who is travelling to village. So this is a nice traveller-song too. The visuals on screen includes nice picturesque background of greenery, countryside, a river and finally it we see Satyajit the hero, driving his car to a ‘kachchaa road’ diverted from a ‘puccaa road’. 🙂
Let us listen to this ‘mesmerizing’ composition of Ravindra Jain in the mellifluous voice of Suresh Wadkar. Lyrics of the song are by Ravindra Jain.
