Kamsune-Ansune Songs of Asha Bhosle – 1
——————————————————–
From this post, I’ll be starting a new series of songs called Kamsune-Ansune Songs of Asha Bhosle, meaning Rarely Heard or Unheard Songs of Asha Bhosle.
Asha Bhosle has by far the leading playback singer in terms of number of songs sung in Hindi and other regional languages of India.
She sang her first film song ‘Chala Chala Nav Bala’ for the Marathi film ‘Majha Bal’ in 1943. Now, after Eight decades, she has sung over 12,000 songs as compared to roughly 6.7K songs of Lata Mangeshkar (The number has been ratified by the complier of her Geet Kosh, Snehasis Chatterjee), 4.8K songs of Mohd. Rafi and 2.7K songs of Kishore Kumar (last two records as per HFGK).
Regular readers of this blog must have noticed my recent post of Asha Bhosle rare songs. And that’s what has given me the idea of starting this series.
The first song in this series is an unheard (by many readers) film titled “Heroine Ek Raat Ki” (1979).
“Main Jaam Pilati Hoon” has been penned by Sajan Dehlavi, composed by Shyamji Ghanshyamji and is sung in a seductive way by Asha Bhosle.
The movie was directed by Raj Wadhwa for producers Roshan Lal & Gurmeet Singh Mitter. The main actors were Beena Bawa, Harish & Shehnaz.
With this song, the movie makes a debut on the blog. The movie had six songs mostly sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohd. Rafi, with Usha Mangeshkar singing a duet with Rafi Saab.
There excellent use of trumpet, saxophone, harmonium, accordion, violins during the song.

Lyrics
main jaaaam
pilaatee hoooon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
main jaaaam
pilaaaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
tu thhaam le
baahein meree
tu thhaam le
baahein meree

dil se ghamon ko bhula le tu
aaja zara muskura le tu
honthhon se mai ko laga le tu
duniya nayi ek basa le tu
phir kahaanee banegi ee
phir jawaanee sajegee
main aaaankh
milaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
tu thhaam le
baahein meree
tu thhaam le
baahein meree
main jhoomtee gaatee hoon
ha a
main jaaaam
pilaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
meri jawaanee mein mastee hai
dil mein mohabbat kee bastee hai
jisko nigaahein tarastee hain
jaadu bharee uskee hastee hai
mere dil ko yakeen hai ae
usko dekha yaheen hai
main paaaas
bulaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
tu thhaam le
baahein meri
tu thhaam le
baahein meri
main jhoomti gaati hoon
oh ho
main jaaaam
pilaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
main hosh
udaatee hoon
