The song in this post is from the ‘1973’ movie ‘Double Cross’. I had mentioned it in my earlier post with a song from this movie, that I have memories of watching this movie somewhere in 1975-1976 at a small town Malkapur (on the Akola-Bhusawal rail route) in Maharashtra. The song ‘main jhonkaa mast hawaa kaa’ that I presented from this movie, was the only thing that I am able to associate with this movie. I had no recollections about the story of this movie and other songs till I became associated with this blog in 2012.
“Double Cross-1973” was directed by Gogi Anand for ‘Pashupati Pictures Pvt Ltd, Bombay’. It has Vijay Anand (in double role), Rekha, Asha Sachdev, Dev Kumar, Madan Puri, Ranjeeta Thakur, Kuljeet, David, Mohan Choti, Manmohan, Sundar, Sudhir, Indira Bansal, Polsan, V. Gopal, Rajkishore, Birbal, Captain Manmohan, Habib, Mama, Ramesh, Lala Nazir, Julian, Sammi, D. Kumar, Dhanna, Pushpa Verma, Parvati Shirodkar, Sulochana and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.10.1973. Music for this movie was composed by R.D. Burman and all the five songs of this movie were penned by Majrooh. This movie has nice songs and from the comments that I read on ‘Memsaab’s blog’ it is clear that the background music of this movie was also very good. The singers who gave their voices to the songs in this movie are Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Bhupinder Singh.

Three songs from this movie “Double Cross-1973” have already been posted on this blog. Today I am presenting the fourth song (the penultimate song) from this movie which is in the voices of Kishore Kumar and Bhupinder Singh. I guess that this song is picturised on the two ‘Vijay Anands’ (double role) in this movie. Only audio of this song is available. Knowledgeable readers may throw more light on the picturisation of this song. I could not find this movie online. However I came across the ‘slower version’ of this song which is has one stanza in the voice of Kishore Kumar and which seems to happen atr the end of this movie. We can see Rekha and Vijay Anand x 2 🙂 in the picturisation while the song is played in the background.
