‘Chanda Ki Chandni-1948’ was directed by Dwarka Khosla for ‘I.A. Patel Productions, Bombay’. This movie was from the genre of ‘social movie’ as mentioned in Geet Kosh Vol-II (1941-195)). The cast of ‘Chanda Ki Chandni-1948’ included Rehana, Jairaj, Veera, Bilimoria, Shanta, Neelkanth Tiwari, Moni Chatterjee, Pandey, Keshri, Ameer Banu and others.
This movie has nine songs penned by D.N. Madhok and music was composed by Gyan Dutt. Today I am presenting the eighth and the penultimate song from this movie ‘Chanda Ki Chaandni-1948’, which is sung by Sulochana Kadam and Geeta Dutt. Lyrics are by D.N. Madhok and music is composed by Gyan Dutt. I remember that the audio (I think expecting its video will be too much?) of this song was not available earlier couple of years back and from the links that I came across now it is clear that this song was made available in 2022.
Though Geet Kosh mentions this song in the voices of Sulochana Kadam and Geeta Dutt, one of the links of this song mentions the singers name as Sulochana Kadam and B. Hussain and also one of the links mentions Geeta Dutt as the singer of this song.
This is a nice song sung by a beloved who is missing her ‘piyaa’ in her ‘maaikaa’. I guess that somehow she is not able to meet her beloved as she says in the song that she has tried to look for him in his location too. 🙂
I would request our editors/and knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the singer/s of this song please.
