“Laaj”(1946) was directed by Shahzada Ayyaz, Saiyyad Munawwar H Qasim for Ayyaz Productions, Bombay. This social movie had Shamim, Radharani, Ramesh, H Prakash, Rajan, Rehana, Gadagkar, Master Nisar, Madhurika, Mumtaz, Moti etc in it.
The movie had ten extremely rare songs in it.
Two songs from this movie have been covered in the blog in the past.
Here is the third song from “Laaj”(1946) to appear in the blog. HFGK does not mention the name of singer(s) of this song. Uploader of the song who obviously has this rare record with him (HMV record number N 26762) has mentioned G M Durrani and Shamshad Begam as the singers of this song. Female voice is clearly that of Shamshad Begam. I am not certain about the identity of male voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the male voice. We will go with the identification of the uploader for now.
Saghar Nizami is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ramchandra Pal.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
