In this post I am presenting a song from an obscure movie from the year of 1975. Obscure because I could neither find any videos from this movie on internet nor any information about it. The title of this movie is ‘Samasya’. It was passed by the censor board on 29.11.1975. Geet Kosh V (1971-1980) mentions this movie as belonging to the genre of ‘social movies’. It was directed by Dayabhai Bhakt for ‘Akik Chitra, Bombay’. The cast of this movie had Madhuchhanda, Pawan Dutt, Chitra Sundaram, Atam Prakash, Sunil Dhawan, D.S. Mehta, Rakesh Jaimani, Vikas Bali, Pratibha Matkari, Anjali Devi and others. Sajjan, Jagirdar, Pallavi Mehta and Damodar Shah had made special appearances in this movie.
“Samasya-1975” has four songs where three lyricists i.e. Virendra Mishra (two songs), Kulwant Jani (one song) and Swati Tirunal (one song) penned the lyrics. The playback singers for this movie are Usha Mangeshkar, Manna Dey, Rani Verma and Parvati Sundaram. Music for this movie was composed by Bhaskar Chandavarkar.
I had presented one song from this movie on the blog on 24th June 2015. This song was written by Virendra Mishra and it was sung by Usha Mangeshkar.
Today I am presenting the second song from this movie which is a poignant song in the voice of Manna Dey. Lyrics writer for the today’s song is Kulwant Jani. Music is composed by Bhaskar Chandavarkar. I do not remember to have listened to this song earlier. When I shared the first song from this movie I was under the impression that the other songs from this movie may not be available as the movie itself was a lesser known movie. I would request knowledgeable readers who might have watched this movie or read about it elsewhere to please throw light on this movie and its songs.
