The song under discussion is from the movie ‘Black Mailer-1959’. This movie was directed by Sultan for ‘Firdaus Films, Bombay’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.05.1959. The cast of this movie had Amarnath, Shantakumari, Aruna, Anjum, Habib, Shyam, Genius, Funny Walker, Radheshyam, Johny Whisky, Bagla, Raju, Fazal Khan, Ghani, Sattar, Mohadle, M. Sandow, Zippy, Kanchanmala, Bande Hasan Qawwaal, Baby Rani, and others. Amrut Rana made a guest appearance in this movie.
Geet Kosh Vol-III (1951-1960) lists five songs for this movie. The lyricists for this movie are Bahar Ajmeri (three songs), Balram and Muzaffar Shahjahanpuri (one song each). Music for this movie was composed by Iqbal.
‘Black Mailer-1959’ made its debut on the blog on 25.09.2013, when a duet from this movie ‘mohabbat naa karnaa zamaanaa buraa hai’ sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor was posted by Shree Atul jee. Today I am presenting the second song from this movie which is a qawwaalee song sung by Bande Hasan Qawwaal. Lyrics are by Bahar Ajmeri and music is composed by Iqbal. Iqbal, the music director for this movie is not to be confused with Iqbal Qureshi who was a different person and a well-known music director in Hindi movies.

These are two different composers.
While Iqbal (or Chhota Iqbal-as he was known then) started his career with Malika Saloni-1953 and ended with C.I.D. Agent 302-1963;the more well-known Iqbal Qureshi started with Panchayat-1960 and ended career with Hukmarana-1998.
IQBAL was essentially a stunt film composer. He gave music to 21 released and 2 unreleased films. His films are-Malika Saloni-53,Jadugar,Jasoos,Sakhi Lutera, Anokha Jungle, Sipah Salar-56,Gypsy,Chetak aur Rana Pratap, Black Mailer, Hero no.1-59,Toofani Tirandaaz, Wrong Number, Diler Haseena, Gun Fight, Zaalim Jaadugar, Night Bird, Toofaani Tarzan, Kala Jaadu, Black Arrow, Fauladi Mukka and CID Agent 302-1963.
Iqbal Qureshi was any day a more successful composer with films like Love in Shimla, Panchaayat, Bindiya, Banarasi Thug, Cha Cha Cha, Qawwaali ki raat etc.
It is very unfortunate that due to name similarity such composers are not much known and do not get the credit for their work. Many Internet sites make this mistake.
