badi berukhi se
zamaane mein ham bhi nahin kam kisi se
zamaane mein ham bhi nahin kam kisi se
hamen yoon na dekho
haay hamen yoon na dekho
badi berukhi se
agar tumse raushan hai jhilmil sitaare
mohabbat bhi zinda hai dam se hamaare
tumhe ho mubarak ye rangeen nazaare
hame kya garaj
haanji hamen kya garaj
hamen apna kah do zara muskura kar
ye dil kya hai
haanji ye dil kya hai
mohabbat mein aansu bahaana padega
mohabbat mein aansu bahaana padega
kabhi na kabhi sar jhukaana padega
chhudaaoge daaman

Missing Films of 1960s – 47
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
The debut film for today is the stunt film ‘Faulaadi Mukka’ from 1965. Interesting to note that the production company is Madras Films, Bombay. The film is directed by S Azeem. The lead actors are Azaad and Indira. The supporting cast is listed as Kammo, Sherry, Murad, Sadhana Khote, Babu Raje, Nazeer Kashmiri, Ram Raseela, Mubarak, Lala Bhaiya, Shakeela Bano Bhopali, Tuntun, Baburao Pehalwan, Pehalwan, and Julian etc.
This obscure film has recently become available online – the complete film and its songs are available as video clips online. The Geet Kosh lists 5 songs for this film. The songs are written by three lyricists – Akhtar Romani, Tabish Kanpuri and Saba Afghani. The song presented today is penned by Akhtar Romani. Music is by Iqbal. It is to be noted that this music director is not the same person as Iqbal Qureshi. The singing voice is of Suman Kalyanpur.
The song is performed on screen by Indira. In the video clip of the song, we also have a brief glimpse of Muraad, watching Indira singing. The song is a ‘missing the loved one’ genre song, as the young lady describes how much she is missing her beau.
Enjoy.

आssss आssss
आ आ आssss
ओ ओ ओssss
आ आ आssss
ओ ओ ओssss
आ आ आssss
ओ ओ ओssss

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all our readers. May the 70th Anniversary of India’s Independence bring happiness, prosperity and peace to people of this great nation.
On this occasion, I present to you a Marching Patriotic song, in praise of the Motherland, from the film ‘Sipahsalaar’ (1956). Sipahsalaar means Chief of Army or Commandant . The name of this film is not well known because the lead actor, the composer or the director were not famous at that time. I said ‘ that time ‘ because in the next one year, this film’s hero – Shammi Kapoor would come in a complete makeover of appearance (without his funny unbecoming moustache) and style of acting with the film ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’ (1957). Later on, he wrote a glorious chapter in the history of Indian cinema.
