‘Bees Saal Pehle’ (1972) was produced by Hemant Kumar under his film production banner, Geetanjali Pictures. The film was directed by Probir Roy. It starred main Ritesh Mukherjee, Anupama, Farida Jalal, Ramesh Dev, Vinod Mehra (guest appearance), Abhi Bhattacharya, Lalita Pawar, Padma Khanna, Iftekhar, Sarita, Jagdev Bhambri, Mohan Choti, Paintal, etc.
Bees Saal Pehle is a suspenseful horror-mystery centered around a haunted mansion and a murder that happened twenty years ago.
The story begins with Suraj (Vinod Mehra) returning from abroad to his native town after many years. He inherits an old, eerie mansion that is infamous in the locality due to rumors of ghost sightings and supernatural happenings. The villagers believe the place is haunted because of a tragic murder that occurred exactly twenty years earlier.
In the climax, the truth is revealed: the supposed haunting is a cover for a very real and human conspiracy, with the ghost being used as a ploy to cover crimes and mislead the protagonist. The film ends with justice being served, and the mystery finally laid to rest.
Three songs out of seven have already been posted on the blog. Here’s the fourth song.
“Roshani Pyar Ki Hai Aankhon Mein” sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The song is written by S. H. Bihari and composed by Hemant Kumar.
This song is a delicate and hauntingly beautiful melody that reflects the romantic yet mysterious atmosphere of the film. It is a gentle romantic song layered with an undertone of melancholy.
Sung with emotional depth and elegance, Lata Mangeshkar’s voice brings both softness and vulnerability, capturing the feeling of love that carries a hint of longing or secrecy.

aaj bhee humaara dil ghabraaye
aaj bhee hain aankhen beqaraar
manzil pass aa toh gayee ee
phir bhee kyun intezaar hai
aaj bhee humaara dil ghabraaye
aaj bhee hain aankhen beqaraar
manzil pass aa toh gayee ee
phir bhee kyun intezaar hai
aaj bhee humaara dil ghabraaye
geet in honthon per mere ae ae
aane ko to aa hee gayee
ho o o
lekin ye naghme jaane hain kiske liye
dil ka ye raaz kahen to kise
kaun sunegaa inhen
naghme yoonhee sunaate
sunaate
saans ruk jaayegee
aaj bhee hamaaraa dil ghabraaye
dil kee duniya mein mere ae ae ae
aaj bhee ek toofaan hai
o o o o
jaane ye mere naseeb mein kya hai likha
naao ghiree bhee hai majhdhaar mein
paas kinaaraa bhee hai
darr hai yahee
kinaare lagegee
ke naao doob jaayegee
aaj bhee hamaaraaa dil ghabraaye
aaj bhee hain aankhen beqaraar
manzil paas aa to gayee ee
phir bhee kyun intzaar hai
aaj bhee hamaaraaa dil ghabraaye

pyaar ke wo raaste
jin per hum chal na sake
o o o
aaj bhee humko bulaatee wo raahen sanam
aur chale do kadam bhee sahee
manzil miley na miley
sapne yahee sajaate
sajaate
raat beet jaayegee
aaj bhee hamaaraaa dil ghabraaye
aaj bhee hain aankhen beqaraar
manzil paas aa to gayee
phir bhee kyun intzaar hai
aaj bhee hamaaraaa dil ghabraaye
