Phew!!! I managed to cross the three figure mark. I think my last 70 odd posts have been posted in a little over a year. This is impressive taking into consideration that the first 30 odd songs took almost 10 years.
Well, still being away from the rare songs of Asha Bhosle momentarily, we look at a song sung by another legend – Kishore Kumar.
“Aisa Bhi Hota Hai”(1971) was produced and directed by Kamran (Father of Farah and Sajid Khan) for Rainbow Films, Bombay. The movie had Dev Mukherji, Nandita Bose, Jalal Agha, Rupesh Kumar, Anwar Ali, Nikita, Tiwari, Sunder, Mohan Choti, Shyam Kumar, Randhir, Anjum, Birbal, Maruti, Jayshree T etc in it.
Aisa Bhi Hota Hai is a romantic social drama with light comedy, dealing with themes of young love, mistaken identities, and generational conflict. It mixes family sentiments with youthful romance, a common thread in early 1970s Hindi cinema.
The story centers around Anand (Deb Mukherjee), a cheerful and kind-hearted young man from a middle-class family. Anand falls in love with Rekha (Nandita Bose), a simple and cultured girl. Their love blossoms quickly, but they face hurdles due to family pressures and social differences.
Anand’s father (Om Prakash) is a practical, somewhat greedy man who wants his son to marry into a wealthy family. Rekha, meanwhile, comes from a respectable but not very affluent background. This class difference sets up the main conflict.
Adding to the confusion are comic interludes involving side characters like Tun Tun and Maruti Rao, who bring in lighthearted misunderstandings and mix-ups, creating tension but also relief in the otherwise emotional story.
As the romance struggles against parental disapproval, the film introduces twists—mistaken identities, suspicion, and emotional blackmail. Rekha’s character undergoes emotional trials as she is forced to choose between her love and her family’s dignity.
Eventually, through persistence, sincerity, and the exposure of some of the selfish motives of the elders, love prevails. Anand and Rekha are finally accepted, proving the film’s underlying message: true love, honesty, and goodness of heart are more important than wealth or status.
“Ho Meri Gori Gori Jaan Main Hoon Tera” is sung by Kishore Kumar, written by S H Bihari and composed by O P Nayyar.
I have not come across the video of this song so have no idea about the picturisation. I welcome knowledgeable readers to throw some light on the same.

main hoon parwaana aa aa
ho meree goree goree jaan
main hoon tera
ek deewaana
