Today 8th September 2025 is the 92nd birthday of of legendary singer Asha Bhonsle(born on 08.09.1933). On this occasion I sharing a few songs sung by Asha Bhonsle.
Asha Bhonsle a living legend needs no introductions on a blog which deals with Hindi Film Songs and NFS. There is nothing new left for me to add as far as her biography is concerned.
The song under discussion here is from an un-released movie ‘Do Dost-1960’.
This movie has already made its debut on this blog in 2013 when its first song ‘ye sone ki duniya ye chaandi ki duniya’ was covered on 20.04.2013. One more song from this movie was covered on 03.04.2016, which was ‘ye shehar hai Bambai bam bam bai’. Not much information is available about this movie ‘Do Dost’.
According to Geet Kosh Vol-III (1951-1960) this movie was made under the banner of Filmistan Limited, Bombay. The name of the director, producer or even the names of the cast of this movie is not known. At least we have information about the songs in this movie. Titles of seven songs are mentioned there with the names of the singers, and leaving the possibility of eighth song which might have been recorded but not known. Lyricists name is mentioned as Bharat Vyas, leaving dots for the possibility of another lyricist (not known) for this movie. Music for this movie is composed by S. Mohinder. The foot note for this movie page in Geet Kosh mentions that the recording for the songs of this movie was completed in ‘October-1959’ and ‘July-1960’.
