In this post I am again presenting a lesser heard song which may well be considered a rare song. This song is in the voice of Kishore Kumar. The movie is ‘Raani Aur Jaani-1973’. This seems to be a very obscure movie of its time. Though this movie made its debut on the blog long back in the year 2009 the movie still remains un-Yippeeee’ed’ on the blog.
“Raani Aur Jaani-1973” was directed by K.S.R. Dass for ‘P.N.R. Pictures, Madras’.This stunt movie was passed by Censor Board on 08.11.1973. The cast of this movie had Anil Dhawan, Aruna Irani, Jyoti Lakshmi, Narendra Nath, Jagdeep, Sulochana, Ramaprabha, Brahm Bharadwaj, Shetty, Coca Cola, Shekhar, Swaraj, Prem Kumar, Master Ripal Sapru, Baby Dally, Baby Charulata and others. Bindu had a special appearance in this movie.
There were six sound tracks released for this movie including one track of ‘title music’ and five songs. Geet Kosh mentions Hasrat Jaipuri as the lyricist, but in its foot note on this movie page, it mentions that as per the information on LP records there were three songs which were jointly written by Hasrat Jaipuri and Pyarelal Santoshi. The second remarks on the foot note also mentions that, initially the movie was titled by the name ‘ Do Dil Do Raaste’, as the LP records were released with this title.
I would request knowledgeable readers who might have watched this movie or had any information about this movie or its songs, to throw more light on this movie and its songs.
As mentioned above this movie ‘‘Raani Aur Jaani-1973” made its debut on the blog on 29.05.2009 with its first song ‘ham jo miley to saaraa zamaanaa jaley’ sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. The second song from this movie was posted on the blog on 20.06.2014 which was a female duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Usha Mangeshkar. And the third song ‘kya kar diyaa bataao zaraa’ was posted on the blog on 30.07.2019. This is lovely duet song sung by Rafi Saab and Asha Bhonsle. Reading this post one can assume that the song was about ‘how much tax (income tax or ‘कर’) you paid ‘क्या ‘कर’ दिया बताओ ज़रा’ because the ‘filing returns is still going around’. The song as usual is about ‘expressions of love’ but the write-up by our Shree Atul jee is ‘a hands-on guide’ on ‘filing your I-Tax Returns’ 🙂 .
Today, I am presenting the fourth song from this movie which is in the voice of Kishore Kumar. Only audio of this song is available. This is a nice song to listen to. Since the lyricist name for this song is not mentioned separately, I consider it is jointly written by Hasrat Jaipuri and Pyarelal Santoshi. Music is composed by Satyam.
