Bhojpuri movie “Dangal-1977” was a social movie. It was directed by Bachu Bhai Shah for Vimal Chitra, Bombay. It was passed by the Censor Board on 11.05.1977. The cast of this movie included Sujit Kumar, Prema Narayan, Ram Singh, Iftekhar, Urmila Bhatt, Mukhtar Ahmed, Hari Shukla , Shubha Khote, C.S. Dubey, Shefali, Shekhar Purohit, Bhagwan Sinha, Dilip Sinha, Shahana, Rajrani, Bhushan Tiwari, Lakshmi Chhaya Aruna Irani and child artistes Rakhi-Umesh, and others. This movie has six songs which were composed to music by Nadeem-Shravan. Lyricist Kulwant Jani-four songs, Rajpati – one song and S. Bhaskar – one song shared the lyrics writing.
This movie “Dangal-1977”(Bhojpuri) made its debut on the blog on 07.02.2014 wherein its most popular song ‘kaashi hiley patna hiley, kalkatta hiley la’ was presented by our Shree Sudhir jee.
Today I am presenting the second song from this movie which is in the voice of Suman Kalyanpur. The first song from this movie presented here was a fun nautanki song, I am presenting a song which is totally opposite from the‘ debut song. This song is a virah geet ‘or missing the beloved’ genre of song. Prema Narayan lip syncs this song in the voice of Suman Kalyanpur. Lyrics are by S. Bhaskar and music is composed by Nadeem Shravan.
Geet Kosh mentions the starting lines as ‘bichhad gayo do hanso ka jodaa’. However these lines are not there in the song. Perhaps I have not been able to locate the version of the song containing the full song. I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.
For now let us listen to this song in the voice of Suman Kalyanpur.
