Mukesh and his NFS – 06

I was in a bit of dilemma, whether to include this post under Composers or NFS series.

I settled for NFS because Mukesh strangely has no film songs for the composer but has 4 NFS. We are talking about composer Iqbal.

Well, it is easy to jump to conclusion that it is Iqbal Qureshi. However, Iqbal and Iqbal Qureshi are two entirely different composers working almost during the same period.

When it comes to same-name confusion, the first name that comes to the mind for clearing the air is undoubtedly Shri Arunkumar Deshmukh.

So here is the link that deciphers the works between the two composers.

Recently, I had a cursory glance on the blog and it appears that there are no remaining songs of Mukesh under Iqbal Qureshi to be covered. As such, I don’t think I will be able to cover him separately. This great song from Omar Qaid (1961) is a personal favourite of mine. Sometime later, I shall include Iqbal Qureshi and Mukesh collaboration in some other post as there are a few important songs to be discussed.

I shall now stop writing on Iqbal Qureshi to avoid confusion and will continue with Iqbal, the composer for today’s NFS.
As detailed by Arunkumar ji, Iqbal composed for 23 films of which two remained unreleased. He never used Mukesh in any of these movies. I find it very strange and sometimes feel there could be some soundbyte in some movie, but according to MGK-II, the filmi score in nil.

With his film songs not creating any ripples despite 21 released films, he started composing Islamic NFS and strangely, Mukesh was his preferred singer. I am contemplating running through the details of these 23 films to see if there is any trace of Mukesh somewhere, but in all probabilities, it will be a futile exercise. However, I am humming and hawing indeed.

I am unable to find details about Iqbal on the net. Unfortunately, much of whatever little info is available is also wrongly attributed to Iqbal Qureshi.

Anyway, here is the list of 4 NFS that Mukesh sang under Iqbal.

S. No Name of the NFS Lyricist
1 Aqad ka ehsaas bhi hota hai Bashar Dehlavi
2 Umar Farukh-e-aazaam Bashar Dehlavi
3 Zehra Ne Teen Rozey Jo Rakhe Bashar Dehlavi
4 Hai Bahut Mashoor Ye Qissa Shadaab Minai

Only one of the 4 NFS has been covered on the blog so far. This post by Nahm ji is quite comprehensive and it appears to me that 2 and 4 are related.

For today’s post, I take up song number 1 in the table above.
One cannot mistake the fervor that Mukesh entrusted in such religious songs.

Song-Aqd ka ehsaas bhee hota hai kya shai Bakhuda(Mukesh NFS)(1960) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-Bashar Dehalvi, MD-Iqbal

Lyrics

Aqd ka ehsaas bhee hota hai kya shai Bakhuda
Doston tumko sunaataa hoon main khaas ek waaqya
Aqd ka ehsaas bhee hota hai kya shai Bakhuda
Doston tumko sunaataa hoon main khaas ek waaqya

ek din afsurda baithhe thhe habeeb e kibriya
Fatima ka aqd kis se ho thhee fikr e Mustafa
arsh se Jibril aa kar bole Shah e Ambiya
kyun pareshaan ho rahe hain poochhta hai ye Khuda
pesh e khidmat hoon Khuda e Pak ka bheja hua
nisbat e zehra mein laayaa hoon na gham keeje zara

faqt ye irshad hai mehboob e haq ae mustaba
maine jis dam Fatima ko dahar mein paida kiya
uska shauhar kaun hoga ilm mein kya ye na thha
byaah se betee ke afsurda na ho dil mein zara
aapkee betee ko bakhsha hai ye maine martabaan
usko maaalik kar diya hai maine baagh e khuld ka

ae Mohammad Fatima hai go shavaara arsh ka
hogee mansoob us se jo hai sher haq ka bakhuda
uskee khaatir ye banee aur iskee khaatir wo bana
vaaste Zehra ke shauhar is se behtar hoga kya
naam hai uska Ali aur hai laqab shere Khuda
tum ho sardaar e Nabi to wo Ameer e Aulia

ae Mohammad yaad keeje aap shaab Meraz kee
sher ke munh mein jo dee thhee aapne angush taree
wo nishaanee chehra e purnoor par hai haidaree
Fatima kee sher e haq ke saathh thhhee mangnee hui
keh diya jo raaaz thhaa phir bhee khayaaal itna rahe
kuchh malaal aane na paaye dil mein mere sher ke

Sun ke ye Zibril se boley Habeeb e Kibriya
jo mere Rab kee main marzee hai wo hee meree razaa
Shadiyaane arsh par bajne lage phir Jaabaja
Zebra ka waalee Mohammad aur Ali ka thhaa Khuda
sar pe sehra baandh kar dulha bane jis dam Ali
farsh se taa arsh phir ek dhoom shaahee kee hui

Aa gaye Jibril ban ka phir vakeel aawaaz dee
Mehar kya ho aapka farmaaiye bin te Nabi
bolee ismein ummat e Ahmad kee hogee behtari
mehar mera bakhsheesh e ummat ho marzee hai meree
mazda e Jibril ne aa kar sar e mehfil diya
mehar inka bakhsheesh e ummat hee farma thha gaya

ho gaye Hazrat bhee khush aur Khuda bhee khush hua
intaha ye ho gaye is mehar se khush Murtaza
sochte thhe dil mein apne ye Mohammad Mustafa
Fatima ko yaa Khuda mein doon zahez is waqt kya
aayee fauran ye sada suniye habeen e Kibriya
donon aalam ko zahez e Fatima mein de diya

wo agar Yaqoot thhee to ye thhe gauhar bebaha
aisee bandee ke liye thha chaahiye aisa bana
al garaj jab ho chukee kul rasmen shaadee kee adaaa
kar ke rukhsat le gaye phir ghar Ali sher e Khuda
kuchh dinon ke baad sher e Haq ke do bete huye
ae Bashar aakhir wahee haasil bane kaunen ke
ae Bashar aakhir wahee haasil bane kaunen ke

Mahesh ji

Thanks for the post. Though I could hardly understand the lyrics [ 🙂 ], I liked the song. Has good appeal.
