Today I am presenting a qawwaalee song from the movie ‘Bhoola Bhatka-1975’. This “social” movie was directed by Ashwani Kumar for Angel Movies, Bombay. Nikkey Usmani was the producer of this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 13.10.1975. It had Kiran Kumar, Usha Solanki, Akashdeep, Aruna Irani, Sanjana, Kanhaiyalal, Bhagwan, Paro, Mridula, Jankidas, Jagdish Raj, Dharamveer, Moolchand, Baby Seema, Master Paras, Surekha Naik, Madhu, Bhushan, Imtiaz Usmani, Munna, Babu, Vijay, Anwar, Fatima, Anuradha, Fazlu, Saroj, Rita, Raheem etc in it.
Story of this movie ‘Bhoola Bhatka-1975’ was written by Sagheer Usmani, and Brij Katyal wrote the screenplay and dialogues of this movie. Editing of this movie was done by Madhu Adsule.
“Bhoola Bhatka-1975” had four songs in it. HFGK does not mention names of singers against their songs. But at the bottom, HFGK mentions that the playback in this movie was given by Lata, Kishore, Asha Bhonsle and Aziz Nazaan. Lyrics for all the four songs in this movie are written by Anand Bakshi, and music is composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.
In the movie this song takes place during a qawwaalee competition. Background of the song is that the hero of this movie Kiran Kumar is running away from Police, and I guess the heroine Usha Solanki is also running away from Police and they enter the premise of this qawwali comnpetition. To hide from Police, they disguise themselves as qawwaalee singers and perform on the stage. We can see many other artistes present in the picturisation of this song singing in chorus
Asha Bhonsle and Aziz Nazaan are the singers of this song where Usha Solanki and Kiran Kumar lip-sync the song. So, this is a duet song in the movie. Atul jee had mentioned in his post while presenting the first song from this movie that all songs from this movie seem to be solo songs, which is not the case as is clear from this qawwaali.
