“Maano Na Maano”(1955) alternatively titled “Believe it or not” and “Andhkaar” was produced by Pranlal K Doshi and directed by B K Adarsh for Movie Entertainers, Bombay. HFGK, in its footnote describes this movoie as Indian’s first psychological drama. The movie failed at the box office so spectacularly that information about its star cast too is not known. The music director Hansraj Bahl provided HFGK the names of some actors as Satish, Chitra, Baldev Mehta and Naaz. That is all the information that is available about this movie.
HFGK lists eight songs for this movie leaving some blank spaces below the list, indicating that the movie perhaps had some more songs in it. Out of the eight listed songs, one song was penned by Kaif Irfani. All other songs were penned by Indeewar.
One song from the movie has been covered in the blog in 2015. After more than one decade, here is the second song from “Maano Na Maano”(1955) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Madhubal Jhaveri. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
