#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

‘AANKHIN DEKHI-1978’ seems to be an obscure movie of its time as I could not find any video of this movie or its songs on internet. Not much information is avilable about the story of this movie or its trivia, except the details given in Geet Kosh Vol-V (1971-1980). Rajinder Singh Bedi ji was the director of this movie. It was a ‘Dachi Films, Bombay’ presentation and it was passed by Censor Board on 18.12.1978.
Music of this film was composed by J.P. Kaushik. Two out of six lyrics of the film were penned by Padma Sachdev ji (as mentioned by me in my earlier post with this movie’s song, I vaguely remember to have watched her either in a programme or interview on Door Darshan.
The cast of this movie had Suman Sinha, Suresh Bhagat, Dinesh Thakur, Ram Murti Chaturvedi, Leela Mishra, Bipin Gupta, Sulochana Latkar, Savita Bajaj, Bhanumati, Sudipa Roy, Deep Dey, Minal Joshi, Kumud Tripathi, Prakash Sharma, Amar Sharma, Preetam Beli, Jagdev Bhambri, Tom Alter, Amrit Pal and Makhan Singh. Music for this movie was composed by J.P. Kaushik. This movie has six songs contributed by lyricists Padma Sachdev(two songs) and Ram Murti Chaturvedi(one song). One song is a traditional song, while one each of the two remaining songs have been taken from the creations of Kabeer and Tulsidas ji. The playback singers for this movie are Bhupinder, K.J. Yesudas, Mohd Rafi and Sulakshana Pandit.
I had earlier presented a beautiful duet (which is nostalgic for me) sung by Rafi Saab and Sulakshana Pandit on this blog on 21.08.2015. Thereafter no other song from this movie have been covered.
Today I am presenting the second song from this movie which is a Raam Bhajan sung by another divine voice Yesudas. He is accompanied by chorus in this song. Lyrics are by Tulsidas jee and music is composed by J.P. Kaushik.
