“Kalpana”(1960) was produced by Ashok Kumar and Ganesh and directed by Rakhan for Ashok Pictures Private Limited, Bombay. This social movie had Ashok Kumar, Padmini, Ragini, S Nazir, Sunder, Balam, Pachhi, Achala Sachdev, Sarita Devi, Baby Farida, Rani Kumar, Harbans, Amrit, Khatana, Iftekhar, Brahm Bhardwaj, Keshav, Ibne Hasan, Shakil Nomani etc in it.
“Kalpana”(1960) had ten songs in it that were penned by four lyricists, namely Raja Mehndi Ali Khan, Qamar Jalalabadi, Hasrat Jaipuri and Janisar Akhtar. O P Nayyar was the music director.
Seven songs out of these ten songs have been covered in the blog in the past.
Here is the eighth song of “Kalpana”(1960) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Mohammad Rafi. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist.
Video of the movie is available, but this song is nowhere to be found in that video. It appears that this song was not included in the movie. Only audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers who may have seen this movie during its first run to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
