“Dhanwaan”(1946) was directed by V M Vyas for Sunrise Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Jairaj, Paro Devi, Anjana, Dulari, Bhagwandas, Amir Bano, Natwar Lal etc in it.
“Dhanwaan”(1946) had 9 songs in it. One song has been covered in the blog in 2017.
Here is the second song from “Dhanwaan”(1946) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Paro devi and an unknown male voice. Roopbani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shanti Kumar Desai.
Only audio of this rare song is available. From the cast, and going by the lyrics of the song, my guess is that this song was picturised on Paro devi and Jairaj.
I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I requst our readers with keener ears to help fill in the lyrics/ suggest corrections wherever applicable.
Note:Mr Sadanand Kamath, our inhouse expert informs us that the male voice sounds like that of the music director Shanti Kumar Desai.

yaad tumhaaree
yaad tumhaaree saath rahegee
saath jiyegee
saath maregee
komal phool se pritam ko tum
pyaar se jhoola jhulaana aa

bhool na jaana
phir aur kalee hai khilne waalee

The voice of the unidentified male singer sounds like that of Shanti Kumar Desai, the music director of the film. I have heard two songs – one from ‘Dhanwaan’ (1946) and another one from ‘Fashion’ (1943) for which he has been specifically accredited as singer. To me, the voices in these two songs matches with that of the song under discussion.
