The song with this post is courtesy Peevesie. My daughter who led me to this blog in 2009. I just popped a question to her and the answer was this song. And why does she love this song because of its lyrics, which are very layman-friendly; almost like what she herself will tell or write.
These are the lines of the song that she loves

But she has been having her own versions for the song which goes

your amma says you love me
appa says you love me”
She calls it South Indianizing the song.
Now to give a prequel to the above:
10th April is the birthdate of the young actress Ayesha Takia (who has hung her boots sometime in 2011) who first came into public vision in an ad for Complan mouthing the words ‘I’m a Complan Girl’ which had Shahid Kapoor play the ‘Complan Boy’. That was an ad in the late 1990s. She made her debut in films as Vatsal Seth’s girlfriend in Abbas–Mustan’s supernatural action thriller film “Taarzan: The Wonder Car” (2004). She is the daughter of a restaurateur father and is married to restaurateur Farhan Azmi. She is active on social media, particularly on Twitter, where she has voiced support for wildlife protection.

Ayesha Takia was seen in about 21 films in her short career of seven to eight years and one of her films was in Telugu. She has acted as the female interest for Shahid kapoor, Vatsal Seth, Akshay Khanna, Abhay Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Fardeen Khan, Salman Khan, Zayed Khan etc.
As I was chatting with my daughter this morning, I asked her for an Ayesha Takia song for which she, suggested this fun song from the 2009 released “Wanted”. And that is when she told me about how she likes the play of words in the song.
“Wanted” was directed by Prabhu Deva & produced by Boney Kapoor. The plot of the film in one sentence is
“a local goon whose killer instincts earns him not only his girlfriend’s disapproval and a corrupt cop’s enmity, but also the attention of a wanted crime boss”
The film had Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Inder Kumar, Sarfaraz Khan (Kadar Khan’s son), Govind Namdeo, Prakash Raj, Manoj Pahwa, Prateeksha Lonkar, etc. playing important characters to Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’ & Ayesha’s ‘Jahnvi’ Additionally, we could see Anil Kapoor, Govinda & Prabhu Deva shaking their leg with Salman Khan in the song ‘mera hi jalwa’.
“Wanted” was a remake of the 2006 Telugu masala film ‘Pokiri’ (meaning Rogue) that had Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead. Interestingly, the film’s Tamil remake ‘Pokkiri’ with Vijay in the lead was also directed by Prabhu Deva (his directorial debut). The Kannada remake of ‘Pokiri’ came in 2010 as ‘Porki’ with Darshan in the lead.
Wajid Ali, Shabbir Ahmed, Jalees Sherwani, Arun Bhairav, Sameer, were the lyricists for songs composed by Sajid-Wajid. The song in this post is in the voices of Amrita Kak & Wajid Ali and written by Jalees Sherwani.
I looked up to see who Amrita Kak was and found that she is the daughter of Bina Kak- a former cabinet member in the Rajasthan assembly. Bina Kak was also seen as Salman’s mother in the film ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ (2005) & ‘God Tussi Great Ho” (2008). She has acted in one or two films more. I also found that Amrita Kak has a few popular songs to her name in Salman Khan films.
