Readers farmaishes
Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.
Thanks !

hi atul
lovely idea to have this page. and i find raja has taken a lead in putting farmaishes.
i can remember one more song from “Aankhon Aankhon Mein” that goes ‘Gaya bachpan toh aayi jawaani to chunari patang ho gayi’
in fact there is a Leena Chandavarkar song in “Main sundar hoon” with the same feelings—‘Aaj Main Jawaan Ho Gayi Hoon’

Another one from me :

This is great – now we have a separate section for the people from Jhumri Talaiya and Nandgaon and other places to send in their farmaishes! I may as well add my farmaishes then!
These are of the Jogi variety:
1. Jogi jabse tu aaya mere dwaare … Lata from Bandini
2. Jogi hum to lut gaye tere pyaar mein … Lata from Shaheed
I shall look for some more to follow!
Thanks, Atul, for giving us listeners (and viewers) our own section!

This has to be an oversight on your part, Atul! Lataji’s best song ever, from Parakh, is missing:

A song by Rafi is also missing:

Your song today (“deewana leke aaya hai”) brought back lots of memories of Rajesh Khanna songs. Here are some farmaishes :
– Kitne sapne kitne armaan (Mere Jeevan Saathi)
– Bye bye, Miss, goodnight (Prem Kahani)
– Sun ja aa thandi hawa (Haathi Mere Saathi)
– Daaton taley daba kar honth (Doli)
– Nainon mein, nindiya hai (Joroo Ka Ghulam) (in fact all songs of this movie, I see you have not posted even one!)
– Maine dekha, tune dekha (Dushman)
–Bheegi bheegi raaton mein (Ajnabi)
– Hum dono do premee (Ajnabi)– Gunguna rahey hain bhanwre (Aradhana) – I see you have not posted a single song of this movie yet.
Sorry, Atul, that’s a long list !!! Once you get me started on Rajesh in his heyday, it is difficult to stop me. 🙂 All at your own convenience, of course. I know you are getting flooded by farmaishes ever since you started this section. In a sense, you asked for it. 😉

This blog is missing another classic from MD Ravi (Lyrics by Rajendar Krishan). I saw this collection at friends place, and was surprised that I never heard about movie or songs.
Movie name was Gauri (1968), and Suni Dutt, Nutan, Sanjeev kumar & Mumtaz were in the lead roles. Then, I guess movie flopped and songs were forgotten (all were classic gem).
Main akela jaa raha

Nice request “peevesie’s mom”. Dev Anand must be in late 50’s when this movie came out. This (& “Des Pardes”) was better (compared to other “Dev Anand” movies from that time).
“Man Pasand” (with datun girl) was remake of “My Fair Lady” (with flower girl), and had some nice songs.
Following songs were also nice:

Mera Kuch Saaman tumhare paas padha hai
then I wasn’t able to remember the lyrics of two songs from Parvarish and when I checked you didn’t have it. And No I couldn’t ask mom as she would have given me a disapproving look for not remembering these songs. Anyway I found then someplace else and thought you should put them up

“aaiye Shauk se Kahiye”
Another movie’s songs you don’t have is Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Khoobsurat’s songs. Here is the list of songs from

“Sunn Sunn Sunn didi tere liye ek rishta aaya hai”

Can you please tell me whether ‘wine’ related category is there and if yes what is exact nomenclature of it.
If it is not there please create.
Also one category missing is Qawwali.
I hope you will do needful inthis.
I remember one Qawwali song of 1960s where two parties are represent Dulha, and Dulhan, and each one praises their own ‘product’ and degrades the other…
I wish I get the film name, film song lyrics…
I only remember ,, it was in black and white… and may be it is from Mughale Azazm? but I am not sure. please try to supply me the lyrics and movie.

dil, haaye mera dil, tera dil (Paraya Dhan)–
holi re holi (Paraya Dhan) *maybe a Holi posting?*–
teri umar nadaan hai (Aankhon Aankhon Mein)–
tu pyaar, haan tu preet (Aankhon Aankhon Mein)LikeLike
