Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.

1) I have sent lyrics of one song from 1983 movie HAADSAA
It has got one lovelorn song sung by KANCHAN(“Haayo rabba kasi ye yaaraa di yaari”)
Music:Kalyanji anandji
Lyrics: M.G.Hashmat
It must have been picturised on Yogita Bali(as a banjaarin singing lovelorn song amidst valleys-I have read somewhere about that song picturisation)
That song must have been deleted from the movie or d.v.d.copy.
I am not very sure whether to send the lyrics of this song or not, because I am unable to find any audio link at YOUTUBE.
But I have found that particular audio track at IN.COM(Whether that link is of any use I doubt,I have provided that link, alongwith lyrics TODAY)
I request you to post that melodious song,If you have that song in your collection.
2) Further, I have sent the lyrics(2nd time-yesterday) of Lata solo song from Jawani mastani/SaReGaMaPa(1972)(Music:Ganesh,Lyricist:Majrooh)
with VIDEO link(which was not availabel one month ago).Someone has uploaded the video of that song.

And the two remaining songs of “Mirza Ghalib” are there with you. I have sent the mail again yesterday.

Atul ji,
In the process of checking the songs for films,falling short by 1 or 2 songs,it took me from 18th April to 30th April 2012.
During this period,I went thru and checked 5900 songs and may be over 1500 films.I spent on an average about 8 hours every day on this work,non-stop.This did not leave me any time for enjoying the songs posted on the blog or read and participate in the comments on songs.
In fact this consumed much of my family time too and it would have been interesting to share my wife’s comments on my work, with you all,but safety rules prevent me from doing this,my safety-that is !
I really enjoyed doing this work as a challenge.Luckily I had all the volumes of HFGK with me for help.
I have tried to remain error free,but it is,afterall,a human endeavour.Any correction,if found may be brought up,please.
I have the satisfaction of being of some tangible use to the Blog.

Thank you very much for completing enormous task of checking the films songs. I do not think I would have had that much patient to undertake this type of voluntary work even though I have enough time with me to do this. This is an ongoing exercise but by completing the first stage of the task ( full songs, songs falling short by 1 or 2), you have really given a push to this exercise.
Sometime doing a good job has a minor pitfall. We were deprived of your interesting information, trivia etc on the recent posts :).

I was fully aware that you were devoting almost all your waking hours for this project and that your spouse was extremely annoyed about that. Hopefully we will not need to subject you to such a project again. The work you have accomplished for us is invaluable for this blog in particular and for all music lovers in general. This work has given us a definite direction. As a result of this mammonth work done by you, I expect to see the number of movies with all songs discussed jumping from 77 to over 200 plus in the next few months time, with more movies climbing up the ladder gradually.
You covered nearly 6000 movies, and we in this blog have nearly 2000 movies covered, so we are within striking distance of covering almost all movies for which songs are available. and it is no mean achievement.
and let us not forget the fact that you have given us write ups on over 300 obscure movies for which no information was available anywhere.
All these contributions made by you are mindboggling and the fans of Hindi movie music will remain indebted for these contributions.
I take this opportunity to thank you from the core of our collective hearts on behalf of all music lovers, not only of this blog, but all those who love Hindi movie music.

Prakash ji,
Film SUSHEELA was made in 1966.It had 6 (six) songs in it.
In 1976 the same film was presented to the Censors for a new certificate,with few changes in the film,adding 1 song (the above song by Asha-Mere aanchal ka diya….) and changing its name to SUBAH JAROOR AAYEGI.
In the new film,thus,there were 7(seven) songs,including the above song.Rest 6 songs were issued in the name of Susheela as well as Subah jaoor aayegi.

I have a combined request to make.first some background-
Master Madan,who created a history of sorts in pre-independence period in the music world of India,with his superb gazal singing,was born on 28-12-1927 and died prematurely on 5-6-1942,at the age of only 15 years.
The kind of craze he created in that era is still remembered by senior citizen even today.
He sang only 8 songs.All are available on You Tube,I believe.

Out of these,only 2 Gazals were very famous,namely

music lovers u may like the song from film ‘gulbahaar’ 1954 .there were two mds.if i am correct. khaiyaam and dhaniraam. geetkar—- sung by none other than my favourite talatji.

The speciality of this song is that the tune is a copy of Hemant Kumar’s private Bengali song,which is extremely melodious.This song with the tune was also copied in a Sinhalese film ditto.

Atulji,
You have posted two songs from the film Shole (1953), But not probably the most noteworthy and successful song from the film. Aye Dil Tu Kahin Le Chal sung by Hemant Kumar. This song was penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri to the tune of Dhaniram & Naresh Bhattacharya.
The significance of the song is that it was Majrooh’s first hit on return from 2-yrs in jail for writing anti-Nehru poem and evading a police warrant.
There is an excellent series Classic Legends on Zee Cinema channel presented by Javed Akhtar, where this is narrated.

I heard a beautiful Asha Bhosle song on Radio Ceylon Purani Filmon Ka Sangeet. The song is from movie Dard-e-Dil (1953) music director R.C. Boral – Pyar ho gaya mujhay pyar.
The only clip available on YT is fairly poor (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nY4dWflZpo).
Actually the song on Radio Ceylon’s braodcast has better audio – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-s_YHMVtIM.
Dard-e-Dil was apparently R. C. Boral’s first film after moving to Bombay.

I looked for these songs on this blog and was stunned that no songs of this film have been posted yet. I look forward to you adding these two and other songs from Dard-e-Dil in the near future.
