Readers farmaishes
Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.
Thanks !

After the success of Upkar in 1967,Kalyanji-Anandji & Gulshan Bawra teamedup again in 1968 for Parivar.Almost all the songs of this movie were very popular at that time.
one of the songs (very light worded) is very well sung by Mukesh is one of my favourites
London Paris ghoom ke dekhe , Dilbar ek se ek
it reminds me of Qutub Minar as tourist spot at that time far away from hustle-bustle of city . Now it is almost centre of Delhi if you include Gurgaon & Noida which has become integral part of it.

Atul, after a while, a farmaish for one song.

I was waiting for Raja to go first, in keeping with the Pehle Aap tradition! Now that he has made his request, here’s my farmaish:
mere ae dil bata …
Jo tum todo piya main nahin todun re …
Both have been sung by Lata in Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje. The second one is a Meera bhajan and has been sung in an updated tune in Silsila, twenty (?) years later, so that too can be added as a separate song, if you like!
Thanks for your patience, and here’s hoping we soon see your 5000th song!

Now that Lalitha has put in her farmaishes so I have done my bit of “pehle aap” ;-), I am going to put in mine. Which will also be post#100 in this section (started on June 7th). So, just 46 days!!! It is like an Afridi century. 🙂
My farmaish has to do with one of my favourite actresses from a movie whose songs are a rage even 52 years after the movie’s release. I noticed that there are plenty of songs of this movie not yet posted herë (for valid reasons of course).
The movie is Madhumati – the heroine is of course Vyjanthimala.
Lots of songs not posted yet but I have a request for at least these 2 songs on Vyjanthi (oh, she is just so beautiful and such a delight to watch):
– daiya re daiya re chadh gayo re paapi bichhua
– jurmi sang aankh ladi
Of course this movie also has unposted songs like “jungle mein mor” and “toote hue khwabon ne” but first the two songs above and then others songs of this movie also please. I just love the songs of this movie. And Naya Daur and Ganga Jamuna (what massive hits Dilip and Vyjanthi came up with!).

I have a favor to ask, Raja! Please don’t mention the age of some of these movies – you say Madhumati’s songs are a hit even after 52 years, and I am thinking, Oh God, I saw Madhumati and I remember it well even after 52 years, at least I can remember the songs, even if the story is vague, because I was in … grade at that time! Just kidding!
Madhumati had a very nice song by Mubarak Begum, I think – Hum haal – e dil sunaayenge, suniye ke na suniye ..., and that’s my farmaish! Thanks, Atul!

today’s music and lyrics are no match of older ones but one song of Gulal (2009) stands out and needs repersentation in you blog.
As far as I know this is the only song of Bollywood which is written, composed and sung by one person Piyush Mishra.
Written in chaste hindi it is a mavellous song.
Aarambh hai prachand,
Bole mastako ke jhund,
Aaj jung ki ghadi ki tum guhar do.
