Readers farmaishes
Seeing that I receive farmaishes (requests) from my readers , It would be a good idea to have a separate page for that. So here is this page. Please use it to give your farmaishes for songs that you may like me to include in the blog. Just make sure to check that the song asked by you is not yet posted. You may refer to the pages that shows the complete lists of posted songs (by movie/ by music director/by year- as the case may be) for reference.

Atul, some more farmaishes from me.
– Jidhar bhi main dekhoon (Tu Hi Meri Zindagi). The song is catchy and the picturisation is just great.
– Songs of Love in Simla. The other day I was listening to the songs of this movie and they were just SO much fun!!! This is one movie which I think I will enjoy watching. In particular, the song “Aye Baby” is really cute. 🙂

Yes, this is fun movie to watch. Sadhana is supposed to be the ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan. I think she looked beautiful in both “avatars”. I saw the movie when it was on a rerun in the now demolished Royal theater in Hyderabad during my teen years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
A majority of the songs are missing from this blog actually –

Indeed this song is a Sudhir Phadke creation. Those days, this song was very difficult to locate. After locating this song, I have posted this song on the very first “Pehli taarikh” opportunity, viz on 1 september 2008.

There are many “Khandan” in bollywood like “khandan from 1942” and “Khandan from 1965”. I am talking about movie names not family’s 😉
And, there are also “Khandani”, “Hamara Khandan”, and related like “Gharana” etc. This request is from relatively young “Khandan”:

I was watching Kohinoor recently and I realized that many of its songs are missing here:

Atul, farmaish for songs of Main Shaadi Karne Chala (1962). I have been listening to the songs today – just lovely.

(2 versions – one a Rafi-Suman duet, other Mukesh-Kamal Barot duet) (quite a rare thing to have same song as 2 duets with totally different singers)

I have been looking for a song “Chhodo chhodo meri baiyan sanware …” by Kamal Barot or Suman Kalyanpur (have I already sent a farmaish for it? I might have!), came around 1960 or 61.

You are referring to movie called “Agni Pareeksha” (year: 1980), and starring Amol Palekar, Parikshat Sahni, Rameshawari and Utpal Dutt.
And, song is very nice picturized on Rameshwari, composed by “Salil Chaudahry” and vocal genius is none other then but Lata-ji

Heard variation of above song in form of gaari (word for “gaali” in bhojpuri) last year while attending a “Tilak” (ceremony happens at groom place before marriage) in Gorakhpur, UP. This song is quite nice and lyrics are decent compare to version ladies were singing.
Nice song and can fit in many category like ghoda (fake), shaadi, bidai etc.
