Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 55
Recently I posted a Kishore Kumar song from the film Aisa Bhi Hota Hai” (1971). At that time I didn’t realise that there was only one song left for the album to be Yippeed.
So here’s that rare as song “Ram Jaane Kis Ki Laagi Haye” by the evergreen and versatile Asha Bhosle, penned by S H Bihari and composed by O P Nayyar.

Phew!!! I managed to cross the three figure mark. I think my last 70 odd posts have been posted in a little over a year. This is impressive taking into consideration that the first 30 odd songs took almost 10 years.
Well, still being away from the rare songs of Asha Bhosle momentarily, we look at a song sung by another legend – Kishore Kumar.
“Aisa Bhi Hota Hai”(1971) was produced and directed by Kamran (Father of Farah and Sajid Khan) for Rainbow Films, Bombay. The movie had Dev Mukherji, Nandita Bose, Jalal Agha, Rupesh Kumar, Anwar Ali, Nikita, Tiwari, Sunder, Mohan Choti, Shyam Kumar, Randhir, Anjum, Birbal, Maruti, Jayshree T etc in it.

Today (28 January 2023) is the 16th remembrance day of O P Nayyar (16 January 1926 – 28 January 2007). He ruled the roost in HFM during 1950s and 1960s, and that too on his own terms. Imagine not using the voice of Lata Mangeshkar in his songs and still managing to create great songs. Curiously, he found his playback singer of choice in Lata Mangeshkar’s family itself, in the form of her younger sinter Asha Bhonsle. There is no doubt that it was O P Nayyar who offered Asha Bhonsle the opportunity to become a playback singer second only to her illustrious elder sister.

I was not aware of this film and neither had heard its songs earlier. It was because of HFGK that I came to know about this film ‘Aisaa Bhi Hotaa Hai’.
‘Aisaa Bhi Hotaa Hai – 1971’ was a Rainbow Films-Bombay presentation and a ‘social’ film as mentioned in HFGK. Its star cast includes Dev Mukherji, Nandita Bose (making debut), Jalal Agha, Rupesh Kumar, Anwar Ali, Nikita, Tiwari, Sunder, Mohan Choti, Shyam Kumar, Randhir, Anjum, Birbal, Maruti, Tuntun, Mumtaz Begum, Shefali, Raj Rani, Mehboob and Jayshree T.
