This day that year 50 years ago.

It was on this day 50 years ago that the biggest surrender of an army was signed at 16:01 IST at Dacca. Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora of Indian Army got Pakistan Army’s Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi to sign on the instrument of surrender.
