I have mentioned it several times that after posting the century post in the blog, I heave a huge sigh of relief and start relaxing, secure in the knowledge that the next century post was far far away. But the next century post occasion arrives way earlier (it seems to me) than expected. It demonstrates that posting 100 articles is not such a daunting task if one just avoids DOT days and posts one or two articles in a day.

Today’s song is a special one. It is from the film Taxi 555-1958. The film was released on 30-11-1958 at Super Cinema in Bombay. Why I call this song a Special song is, because this song ( Diya bujhaao, jhatpat jhatpat ) is a parody of K L Saigal’s well known song ” Diya Jalaao, jagmag jagmag” from the film Tansen -1943. Of course the Parody stops only at the Mukhada of the song. The style or the tune of the rest of the song is entirely different, nevertheless the mukhada, being famous, undoubtedly reminds us of Saigal’s song.

The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Shakeela, Azra, Lalita Pawar, Maruti, Mahipal Sundar, Vijay Pandit, Sagar, Leela Mishra, Romesh sinha, Amrit Rana, Nadir, Nazeer Kashmiri, Ravikant, Dubey, Brahmbhatt, Vidhyawati, Narbada Shankar, Sadiq, Chandabai, Harun etc, with guest appearance by Heeralal.
