Though I have discussed over three thousands songs in this blog already, there are still a large number of great songs that are yet to be discussed. When I post songs in this blog, I am spoilt for choices. There are so many songs to post. When I think of one songs and I am planning to post it, I simultaneeously work on other songs too, and in the process, I often forget all about the song (s) that I originally had in mind. As a result, many sngs that I intended to post in the past remain unposted. This in fact has been the case with many farmaishes that I have received in the past.

For those who are into trivia, here is an interesting bit of information. Hemant Kumar sang just four songs under the music direction of Shankar Jaikishan. All these songs were sung in 1953 and 1954. One of these songs was in “Shikast” (1953)- “Ham kathputle kaath ke” and another was in “Patita” (1953)-“Yaad kiyaa dil ne kahaan ho tum”. These songs are already posted in this blog.

And the same movie was remade as “Sweekaar Kiyaa Maine” in 1980s.

Bollywood movie makers often tend to have same titles as that of old movies. For instance, I am aware of three movies titled “Adhikar”. The most well known of them for me is the movie of 1971 which was a musical blockbuster ( though the movie itself did not do well). There was another movie by this name in 1986.

Yaad kiya dil ne kahaan ho tum

It is a very old song, but very much a gold standard song. I have listened to this song for a long time and liked it very much. Sung by Hemant Kumar and Lata, this is such a lovely “chayageet” kind of song, ideal listening at sleep times, though one can enjoy it anytime, as befits any timeless song, which it certainly is.
