Here is a very very moving song dedicated to those who lay down their lives to protect national boundary from external threats. This song from “haqeeqat” has become an iconic song. Today, now that India is paying its respects to the martyrs who laid down their lives to fight terrorists who had attacked Mumbai, this song is being played in TV channels.
And I agree that this is a song that captures the mood of people very well. We are proud of our gallant brave-hearts.

I feel just the same. I am not in a mood to post songs. It is just that the songs that I posted were already there in my draft. It is just this particular song that I needed to create afresh.

I haven’t seen this film yet, although I’ve heard how good it is, because I know it will be difficult to watch (I like happy films 😉 but perhaps this weekend is a good time for it.

The lyrics should say “saathiyo” and not “saathiyon”

In textbook language, it is साथियों viz comrades. Please notice the dot at the end of the devnagri script (if you can read devnagri script). That dot gives the sound of n.

No, when you are calling out to a plural audience, it should not have the dot. I recall Javed Akhtar correcting a singer for exactly this issue on TV. I will try to find other links around this. (Same thing applies to other songs like Baharo Mera Jeevan.)

Very fitting song, Atul.
I salute the brave men who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Very emotional time for Indians at the moment.
Personally, I am finding it very difficult to enjoy anything at the moment. This has taken its toll of me. It will take a bit of time for me to recover.
Atul, I have seen your other songs posted also. Wonderful songs. But, for reasons above, am not somehow just not able to bring myself to listen to them now. Will listen after some time – and post my comments as I usually do.
