Is there anyone who has not listened to this song, or who does not like this song ?
What an iconic song this is !
“Mera naam Chin Chin Choo baba Chin Chin Choo” is an all time favourite song of all generations, including the young generation who normally find old songs as boring.
Geeta Dutt’s voice sizzles in the audio. And pray who was the lyricist ? It was Qamar Jalabadi, whose name may make people think that he may have been a mere shayar. But appearances can certainly be deceptive. For some reason, I used to think that the music director was S D Burman or C Ramchandra, but it is O P Nayyar. Wow ! O P Nayyar is known for some of the most lively numbers in Bollywood movie history, and this song must rank among such songs.
And this song is picturised on the one and only HELEN. She plays a Chinese dancer, and makes her appearance on the screen almost like how a snake or dragon would come slithering in, dressed Chinese style. It is a different style dance than Cabaret dances that she tended to perform. And I suspect that she had a longer role in this movie as well.
Watching other characters viz K N Singh in this song enhances the fun.
It is a great great song, an absolute treasure. So here it is. Enjoy.
