Aaja re mere pyaar ke raahi

This is one song that I had never heard before. There is nothing new in that. It is becoming a habit with me. 😉
I had at least heard the name of the movie viz “Oonche log”(1965) and I could see that the song was picturised on Feroz Khan.
So far so good, but who was the lady who sings this song on the screen ? She is not someone I am familiar with. In fact, the list of name only reads like the whos who among male actors- Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Feroz Khan, Kanhaiyyalal., but pray who is the lady ? Or did the makers of this movie thought they could do away without signing any well known actress ?
After great research, I have found out that the leading lady of this movie was someone called K R Vijaya who was making her debut in this movie. And she had a very small role and not even any dialogue. That way, she should count herself lucky that she at least gets to sing in this song.
In this movie, it is only Feroz Khan who gets to sing. And that too in the voice of different singers.
This song is sung by Lata ( with Mahendra Kapoor) and it is such a nice song to listen to.

K.R.Vijaya is a very well known South Indian actress, in fact, I think she still acts in small roles these days. This movie is a remake of a very powerful Tamil movie, I think it was Major Chandrakanth, and the woman had a very small role in it.

Indeed KR Vijaya is well-known in South India.
I like the melody in this song.
And the movie was also OK.
Yes, it was based on Major Chandrakanth.
I think it was actually a play.

i heard this song on radio when i was teen age.by the time i turned the radio on song was half completed.i tried to ask so many people if they know about this song or name of this movie,no one could help me.i wana thanks to you for putting this song and video on this site.you made my day after listening this song.

My favourite film and song. Beautifully play-backed by Lata ji with Mahendra Kapoor ji…is based on Raag “Janasamohini” with some pieces of “Jhinjhothi” ….a masterpiece of MD Chitragupta ji….in Tal ‘Kaherava’…..This song was shoot on actress K R Vijaya who was making her debut in this movie…. she had a very small role and barely had any dialogue. She must be fortunate that she gets chance to perform this lovely song on screen…but lengthy exposer of Firozkhan leaves only listening pleasure.

I heard this song after so many years, and surprise! I actually remembered some of the lyrics, so it must have made a deep impression on me. It is a beautiful song, as were so many of the songs from that period.
Maybe I am the only one who noticed this, but I was wondering why the girl was running around bare footed, while the man was wearing his shoes. I have noticed the same thing in another song with Sharmila Tagore and Rajendra Kumar, and they are running around in snow in that song. Why were the women made to run without slippers in those days? Any ideas?
