This was the last post in the series.
Every day I find myself humming one song or the other of ARR’s compositions. It is only in the last decade or so ARR has started to compose songs for films made in Hindi only. For more than two decades, the maestro was focused more on Tamil/telegu and some time Malayalam film industry and composing music for them. Some of these movies were made in hindi also simultaneously. But most were made in Tamil/Telegu and dubbed for the hindi version.
Despite this fact, the impact of ARR brand is evident all around.

‘Kabzaa’ (1988) was produced by Nanabhai Bhatt and was directed by his son, Mahesh Bhatt. The cast included Raj Babbar, Sanjay Dutt, Amrita Singh, Alok Nath, Paresh Rawal, Neelu Phule, Mahesh Anand, Mushtaq Khan, Kamal Chopra, Anupam Kher, Dimple Kapadia, Akash Khurana, Tiku Talsania, Disco Shanthi, Avtar Gill, Akhtar Masood, Deepak Qazir, Manek Choudhry, A.C. Poddar, Suresh Bhagwat, Ghanshyam etc. This was the first film under the banner Vishesh Films which was floated by Mukesh Bhatt with Mahesh Bhatt acting as a creative partner. However, their father, Nanabhai Bhatt was credited as the producer of the film.
The story, screenplay and dialogues were written by Salim Khan which was said to have been inspired from the Hollywood film ‘On the Waterfront’ (1954) starring Marlon Brando. A decade later, Vishesh Films made ‘Ghulaam’ (1998), almost a remake of ‘Kabzaa). Both the Hindi versions of the Hollywood film were customised into the Indian socio-political scenarios in which ordinary citizens faces the wrath of the criminals.

In the first thirteen episodes of the series, we listed actresses whose names begin with the first thirteen letters of the alphabet and who had lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. Then we went on to cover a song that was lip synced by another acresses whose name began with the same letter and who had not lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog.
The exercise of finding a “new” actress whose name begins with a particular letter is being increasingly difficult. The three “new” actresses who made their debuts in the blog (as far as lip syncing in Asha Bhonsle’s voice is concerned) were Anju Mahendru, Bhanupriya, Chandrakala,Divya Bharati, Ekta,Farheen,Gulnar Irani,Harsha Mehra,Isha Koppikar,Jasmine,Khushboo, Laila and Madhavi.
In this episode, we arrive at the fourteenth letter N. The letter N has thrown up good number of Hindi film actresses. As many as 26 actresses whose name begin with N have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. The list includes some iconic names as we will as some names that few people may have heard of.

Today’s post is Prakashchandrajee’s farmaish. He requested me to choose an Asha Bhosle song filmed on Daljeet Kaur Khangura. She is already represented on this blog with an Asha Bhosle song.
Daljeet Kaur Khangura was an Indian actress best known for her substantial contribution to Punjabi cinema, where she was one of the leading female stars of the 1970s and 1980s. She also appeared in Hindi films and worked in Punjabi cinema for several decades. ‘Mr. Bechaara’ (1996) was produced by Nandu Tolani and was directed by K Bhagyaraj. The cast included Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Heera Rajgopal, Anupam Kher, Shakti Kapoor, Avtar Gill, Mahavir Shah, Tiku Talsania, Shammi, Damini, Baby Vandana, Master Rakesh Bhanushali, Manmauji, Yasmin etc. Nagarjuna made his special appearance in the film. The film was a remake of Tamil film, ‘Veetla Visheshanga’ (1994) which was also directed by K Bhagyaraj who acted in the film in the lead role.
