Alphabetical list of actresses who have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice- Part II

(Asha Bhonsle singing for Actresses whose name begin with the letter B)

In the first episode of this series, we gave a list of actresses whose name began with A and who had lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the posts of the blog. That post covered a song picturised on an actress whose name started with the letter A who had not lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog till that time.

In this second episode, I will give a list of actresses whose name begins with B and who have already had songs in the blog that were sung by Asha Bhonsle and were picturised on them. Unlike the letter A which yielded 30 plus actresses, there are only 10 actresses with letter B in the blog :-

Hullo Atuldom

Got to know that today is International Family Day. ‘Family’ is something that one doesn’t choose, a person is usually born into a family. The starting point of any family are the husband and wife who get to choose each other (atleast in modern times, not in the times of my parents or even till the turn of the century). In my opinion, the anniversary of our parents should be what we celebrate as ‘Family day’ or ‘Foundation Day’ (as I like to call it 😀) But that is my thought I don’t expect people to agree with me.

Google tells that “International Day of Families” is observed globally on May 15. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993, the day aims to promote awareness about the social, economic, and demographic issues that affect families worldwide. The key theme for 2026 include ‘Families, Inequalities, and Child Wellbeing’ and ‘Family- Oriented Policies for Sustainable Development’ emphasizing resilience and support.

#the Decade of Fifties – 1951 – 1960 #

#Debutant Movie – ‘Dwaarikaadheesh-1956’#

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Dwaarikaadheesh-1956’. This movie is making its debut on this blog today.

With over twenty thousand songs already on the blog, and over six thousand of them being from the decade of 1951-1960, I was shocked to note that this movie was still missing from the blog. I was even more surprised when I listened to a few songs from this movie. I must say that this movie has some great melodious compositions in it. It is likely that the songs from this movie were not available online in the past. Personally I had not heard any songs of this movie anywhere to the best of my knowledge. Nevertheless, almost four thousand songs from the decade of 1951-1960 are still missing from the blog. Some of them are available and some more songs may become available with time. As we cover these missing songs, we will come across movies that have not yet made their debuts in the blog.

I checked and double checked and finally came to the conclusion that this movie “Dwarkadheesh” is making its debut today in the blog.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

(Debutant Movie – Dilwaale Dulhaniyaan Le Jaayenge-1980)

‘Le jaayenge le jaayenge, dilwaale dulhaniyaa le jaayenge’ from ‘Chor Machaaye Shor-1974’ has become a cult song. The phrase ‘dilwaale dulhaniyaa le jaayenge’ has become an phrase that compulsorily gets used in Indian wedding related matters. It became one of the must play song in Indian baaraat procession. Half a century have passed since this song was created and this song is still going strong in wedding circles. 21 years after this song was created, a movie was made with the title ‘Dilwaale Dulhaniyaan Le Jaayenge’-1995, which was without a doubt a tribute to the iconic song of ‘Chor Machaaye Shor-1974’. The movie became a super duper blockbuster.

However, that 1995 movie was not the first movie with that title. Same title ‘Dilwaale Dulhaniyaan Le Jaayenge’ was used in a movie of 1980, but this movie went unnoticed and had ended up as an obscure and rare movie of its time. I am not even aware if this movie was ever released, because I had never heard of this movie until I got my copy of Geet Kosh Volume-V (1971-1980) in the year 2015. After becoming aware of the existence of this movie, I was looking for the songs of this movie. The songs from this movie were not available easily. Somehow today morning when I was browsing for other songs I noticed that a few songs from this 1980 movie are now available on internet. So, today I am presenting the first song from this movie.

Hullo Atuldom

The song with this post is courtesy Peevesie. My daughter who led me to this blog in 2009. I just popped a question to her and the answer was this song. And why does she love this song because of its lyrics, which are very layman-friendly; almost like what she herself will tell or write.

Hullo Atuldom

30th March marks 24 years since Anand Bakshi bid goodbye to this mortal world. He was all of 72 then. In the 45 years that he was active in the Hindi film industry he had worked with nearly 95-100 music directors (as per google) beginning with “Silver King” (1957) which had music by Sudipta (knowledgeable Atulites, please confirm if this music director is same as Sudipta Bhattacharya) & “Bhala Aadmi” (1958) with music by Nisar Bazmi; Bakshisaab first wrote for ‘Bhala Aadmi’ but ‘Silver King’ released first is what I discovered on google as I sat to write this post.

Hullo Atuldom

Syed Emraan Anwar Hashmi (known simply as Emraan Hashmi in the entertainment industry) was born in Mumbai to Anwar Hashmi who was essentially a businessman who had acted in “Baharon Ki Manzil” (1969) as the character that Farida Jalal’s character is supposed to marry (found this bit of information on the internet). Emraan Hashmi’s paternal grandmother was the yesteryear actress Meherbhano Mohammad Ali who was popular as Purnima, whose last released film came in the late 1990s. Purnima’s father (a Tamil Brahmin), was supposed to have been an accountant in the office of film distributor Kikubhai Dessai. Emraan Hashmi’s grand aunt was the mother of filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt & Mukesh Bhatt.
