Daane daane pe likha hai

Here is a nice comedy song from a movie called “Baarish”. The song may be a comedy song, but it is a philosophical song too. This song was written by Rajinder Krishan, whereas C Ramchandra is the singer as well as the music director.
The song was picturised on Dev Anand. Come to think of it, I was not aware that this was a Dev Anand movie. This movie in fact has Nutan as well.
In fact, I was not aware of this song either. This song was a long pending farmaish of Raja and that is how I become aware of this song.
This is a nice song, and I have found out that this movie has a few other comedy songs s well, which I will post in coming days.

Song- Daane daane pe likha hai (Baarish) (1957) Singer-C Ramchandra, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-C Ramchandra
Lyrics
daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
Koyi kitna ameer ho ya kitna ghareeb
khaye utna hi jitna hai uska naseeb
Koyi kitna ameer ho ya kitna ghareeb
khaye utna hi jitna hai uska naseeb
aage malik ke chalta nahin koi daam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
teri kismat ki likhi huyi hai kitaab
tere ek ek din ka hai usme hisaab
teri kismat ki likhi huyi hai kitaab
tere ek ek din ka hai usme hisaab
tere bas me na subah hai na teri shaam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
kabhi garmi ki mauz kabhi baarish ka rang
aise chakkar ko dekh saari duniya hai dang
kabhi garmi ki mauz kabhi baarish ka rang
aise chakkar ko dekh saari duniya hai dang
chaand sooraj zameen sab uske ghulaam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
daane daane pe likha hai khaane waale ka naam
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram
lene waale karod dene waala ek Ram

Thanks for posting this, Atul.
Simple, pleasant, philosophical song.
I saw this movie recently – for Nutan, of course.
The first half is pretty good. Timepass.
And Dev and Nutan go after each other throats in very typical fashion (they did this also in “Paying Guest” and “Tere Ghar Ke Saamne”).
The second-half gets quite predictable and drags on a bit.
But overall, it was good. Dev (at that time) and Nutan (at any time) – definitely worth watching.
