Imagine Shammi Kapoor being born 20 years too early and playing roles similar to “Junglee” and “Jaanwar” in 1940s. Then what kind of songs will he get to sing ?
It would be a “teasing” song like this. Yes “do naina matwaare ” would be the kind of songs he may get to sing.
It is wonderful to listen to this song. It is even more wonderful to see K L Saigal, hairs combed and oiled properly teasing and wooing a lady 1940s style. Cute !

this is my very favorit song of my school years. I with friends went out to Cambay first time in life to see this movie, without permission of family ,,since love to hear often often till date October 8th 2011 Thinks t0 this blog..praful shah of PETLAD< GUARAT INDIA

This song was a favourite song of my father. when we were listening
60’s and 70’s songs during our school days he was admiring kL saigal
but today I got an opportunity to see and hear KL Saigal. My father is
nomore now but I would have given a best gift to him by making him
to listen and see his favourite singer and actor today by this site.
My lots of congrats to the person who has made this lovely effort.

I just love this song! I just thought of it this morning and am listening to it as I taste the aviyal I have made to take to a friend’s house for lunch. Great way to start the weekend! Thanks for finding all these gems and posting them here.
Has anyone done any research on when the actors started running behind their women, while singing? It looks like the 40’s and early 50’s had them sitting or just strolling around at best. Was it Shammi who started the trend? I do not think Raj Kapoor or Dilip or Dev Anand ever ran!
