This is a song that I never heard before. For that matter I never heard the name of the movie “School Master” (1959) either.
Now I have heard this song. This is a duet sung by Manna Dey and Lata. The song is written by Pradeep and the music is by Vasant Desai.
It is a nice song that grows on you the more you listen to it.

This song is indeed from “School Master”. And a rare song.
One explanation for actors not matching from another song of this movie could be that the picturisation may well be from some other movie. I have read somewhere that this song was not released.

Dear Sir,
Thanks a lot for the song “taar taar baj raha ” . This is such a wonderful song that it is surprising why it missed being super hit and not known to many .Unfortunately I could not download the song ,neither here nor elsewhere .

The explanation why this song did not become popular was that this song was not known to people, since this song was not included in the movie, and therefore its records were not made.

You are right about the song growing on you the more you listen to it. I heard it the first time on a site called madhursangeet.com under “aa piya sajaniya”. Thanks to you we could see the video as well.

To me, lip sync on actors seems to match perfectly. So I feel, this song was picturised but probably got cut on or after the film’s release.
The song is picturised on Kamini Kadam and the male actor seems to be B R Panthulu, who was also the Director of this film. B R Panthulu was the Producer, Director of and actor in many South Indian films. Incidentally, B R Panthulu was a school teacher before he joined south Indian film industry.

This is a very nice song, but I really cannot remember ever hearing it before today. There is another song in School Master that I have heard, and it is also a very nice song – O dildaar bolo ek baar … by Lata and Talat. However, the actors in that song are quite different from the ones in this scene, so I am not sure if these are from the same movie, or different ones. Thanks for finding these old beauties.
