“Aadmi aur insaan” (1969) had Ravi’s music. When I looked at the list of songs that I have posted from this movie, I found that I had posted just one song, and that too a “lesser” known one. Knowing Ravi, he creates a bagful of hit songs in every movie where he is the music director, many of which have gone on to become iconic songs.
Here is a well known song from “Aadmi aur insaan”. Here Asha Bhonsle sings the lyrics of Sahir Ludhianvi. Those days one tended to have quite a few songs beginning with the word “Zindagi”, and all these songs interpreted “Zindagi” (life) differently, much like how six blind men tried to figure out an elephant.
Whereas other songs of the same era described “zindagi” as a “paheli “(puzzle), “naatak” (drama), “safar” (journey) etc, in this song “zindagi” is described as “ittefaq” (concidence).
This song was picturised as a party song on Mumtaz seen in a Helenesque outfit, with Dharmendra and Feroz Khan looking on. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
PS-Later, I realised that this song has a duet version too, which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Mahendra Kapoor and lip synced by Mumtaz and Mahendra Kapoor. That way, this song is a multiple version song.

Our blog just celebrated his b’day on March 3rd. He will be remembered as a great musician by hindi film industry. I have always cherished his bhajans, specially by Ashaji. He gave great songs for B.R.Films too.

The latter part of the song we can hear Mahendra Kapoor, so this is a duet, unless there was a solo and a duet version of this song.
