Aa chal ke tujhe main le ke chaloon

Posted on: April 22, 2009

Behind that jovial and boisterous exterior, Kishore Kumar hid a soft and sensitive interior. After “Chalti Ka naam Gaadi”, whichever movie he made were made on serious and sensitive subjects and were made as labour of love by him.

As it was, Kishore Kumar used to act and sing already, and in the movies that he produced, Kishore Kumar often took even more roles upon himself.

Take this song for instance. Kishore KUmar has done evereything in this song. He has sung this song and acted on this song. And in addition, he was the lyricist as well as the music director of this song too. This is perhaps the only such example in Bollywood history when the same person played all these roles in a song.

I could locate a video of this song, but I found that the audio quality was poor and the video consisted of just a few seconds of clip hat was repeated several time, and as a result there was no lipsyncing or consistency in the picturisation and the audio. Till such time I can locate a better quality video, here is better quality audio for the time being.

This song is undoubtedly one of the most memorable songs sung by Kishore Kumar.

PS-Now I have been able to locate the complete video of the song as well.

Song-aa chal ke tujhe (Door gagan ki chaaon me) (1964) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Kishore Kumar, MD-Kishore Kumar

Lyrics

aa chal ke tujhe
main le ke chaloon
ek aise gagan ke tale
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoon bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
aa chal ke tujhe
main le ke chaloon
ek aise gagan ke tale
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoon bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
ek aise gagan ke tale

sooraj ki pahli kiran se
aashaa ka saweraa jaage
sooraj ki pahli kiran se
aashaa ka saweraa jaage
chanda ki kiran se dhul kar
ghanghor andheraa bhaage
chanda ki kiran se dhul kar
ghanghor andheraa bhaage
kabhi dhoop khile
kabhi chaaon mile
lambi si dagar na khale
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoon bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
ek aise gagan ke tale

jahaan door nazar daudaayen
aazaad gagan lahraaye
jahaan door nazar daudaayen
aazaad gagan lahraaye
jahaan rang birange panchhi
aashaa ka sandeshaa laayen
jahaan rang birange panchhi
aashaa ka sandeshaa laayen
sapnon mein pali hansti ho kali
jahaan shaam suhaani dhale
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoo bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
ek aise gagan ke tale

sapnon ke aise jahaan mein
jahaan pyaar hi pyaar khilaa ho
ham jaa ke wahaan kho jaayen
shikwa na koyi gilaa ho
kahin bair na ho
koi gair na ho
sab mil ke ye chalte chalen
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoon bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
aa chal ke tujhe main le ke chaloon
ek aise gagan ke tale
jahaan gham bhi na ho
aansoon bhi na ho
bas pyaar hi pyaar pale
ek aise gagan ke tale
ek aise gagan ke tale
ek aise gagan ke tale

Absolutely moving story and song – my personal connection with this song is that I used to sing this song to my two daughters when they were little (not that I have a great voice), and I also used to play the song (his song that was recorded in LA in 1984) in my car and at home. My daughters tell me that anytime they were feeling down, troubled or depressed, they would listen to this song and it would make them very optimistic and cheerful. Thank you Atulji for posting it.

I love this song. What a coincidence i also used to sing for my daughter also. This is my favourite song and when I remember her sing this song. On the musical night of her marriage I sing song for her. I have asked my son in law to join us for last few lines with us.
