Hullo Atuldom

“100 Days” (1991) was produced by Jay Mehta (son of producer Pranlal Mehta), directed by Partho Ghosh. This was a first for both the producer and director. It starred Madhuri Dixit- Moon Moon Sen- Jackie Shroff- Javed Jaffrey- Laxmikant Berde – Sabeeha (daughter of yesteryear actress Ameeta of “Tumsa Nahin Dekha” fame) and a few others. It was a remake of a Tamil hit, a crime thriller with a twist. Madhuri played Moon Moon’s sister and Javed Jaffrey’s college friend. Jackie played a rich man and Laxmikant Berde his secretary.

Usually I like to give the synopsis of the movie with the song but not today. It will take away the fun of seeing the movie, just in case any follower of the blog feels like having a dekho of the movie, anytime. I have seen it in both languages and have loved it. Specially the climax and the various emotions that run through the movie. There is high drama, comedy, romance and a few entertaining songs. Partho Ghosh had an able cinematographer in the (late) Arvind Laad and the frames in the suspense scenes are well composed.

The music for the movie was by Vijay Patil better known as Raam Laxman. I remember that our in-house encyclopedia has mentioned somewhere on the blog that Raam -Laxman were brothers who were signed up for the 1977 movie ‘Agent Vinod’. Unfortunately, Raam the older brother passed away before the release of ‘Agent Vinod’ in 1976. But Vijay Patil continued his journey in the industry as Raam -Laxman and was very successful in the ’90s. He later changed his name to Raamlaxman post ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’.

“100 Days” had songs written by Dilip K Tahir, Dev Kohli and Ravinder Rawal. the singers used were Lata Mangeshkar, Alka Yagnik, S.P. Balasubramaniam, and Amit Kumar. Choreographers were Suresh Bhatt, Chinni Prakash, and Partho Ghosh himself. There are two songs that were filmed on the dancing duo Javed Jaffery and Madhuri of which one was a stage song.

Today we are not having the stage song but the other one, which is essentially keeping with the spirit of today i.e. April Fool’s day or All Fools day. Since morning there have been messages which are supposedly giving insight into why this day is celebrated and the last line of that message says, and I quote: “He used to read all fake stories, like you are doing now. It’s great idea fooling you”. Normally people play harmless pranks on their friends and dear ones on this day and I read somewhere that this is, generally, only till noon.

This is what I found on wikipedia:- “Some writers suggest that April Fools’ originated because in the Middle Ages, New Year’s Day was celebrated on March 25 in most European towns, with a holiday that in some areas of France, specifically, ended on April 1, and those who celebrated New Year’s Eve on January 1 made fun of those who celebrated on other dates by the invention of April Fools’ Day. The use of January 1 as New Year’s Day became common in France only in the mid-16th century, and that date was not adopted officially until 1564, by the Edict of Roussillon”.

Before getting on to the song I would like to congratulate Atulji, Sudhirji and all his followers and contributors and commentors on the blog’s 16300th post. Even if the blog is moving as per the movement of the moon, we are reaching centuries at a constant pace.

Here is the song in Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar’s voices Sabeeha is in Javed’s team in playing pranks on Madhuri though they are all close friends. This song is written by Ravinder Rawal.

I would like to point out a few things in this song:-
(1) Javed jaffery is holding a small potli in his hand at the start of the song, akin to what Gabbar Singh had in ‘Sholay’.
(2) Madhuri has a step where she is shown mixing tambaaku (tobacco) like Gabbar Singh (of course).
These are the reasons why the song has stayed with me in all these years.

geedad sher agar ban jaaye
pal bhar dhaak jama leta hai woh

aisa

Hullo Atuldom

A very Happy New Year to the followers of the blog who go by the name Atulites. Here is wishing everyone a year different from the last.

This post is not an attempt at “This day that year” or for the “blog ten year challenge” category. Out of curiosity I just checked out the closing posts of December 2010 and opening of the year 2011. Was surprised that the last post of 2010 was on 29th December. Avinashji’s post gives details of that date. The next post was on January 1st. Saajna din bahure hamaare and Mere barbaad hone ka nazaara dekhne aale were the two songs posted. Going by the lyrics of the two songs it is obvious that they were not dedicated New Year songs or even feel good or party style songs. (I am not complaining because they are melodious). I would love to know which was the first dedicated New Year song ever, posted on the blog. My guess is it could be Saal mubaarak saahib jee by Sudhirji.

My first post for this year is a dance number. It features Bindu- the brilliant dancer from my growing up years, Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni and Nana Patekar. It is sung by Amit Kumar, Sapna Mukherjee, Sudesh Bhonsle and Poornima (who sang as Sushma Shrestha in her childhood). It is from the 1994 released Mehul Kumar directed “Krantiveer”.

The movie was the story of a young boy who runs away from home after his doting but strict mother catches him going wayward. The boy lands up in Mumbai, and ends up saving the life of a young boy (Atul Agnihotri). The boy’s father (Paresh Rawal) takes a liking towards the child and takes him under his care . The two kids grow up, the runaway lad turns out to be Pratap (Nana Patekar). From here the story meanders through the usual masala of basti, landlord, corrupt police- judges, rich girl-middle class lad love story, killers revenge etc. There is an added character of a journalist (Dimple) who is trying to expose all things wrong in the area, through her writings. There is a at times serious and sympathetic at other times relation between Pratap and Megha (Dimple).

There have been songs in Rap style in the past too but the ’90s saw a surge in their numbersand a few regular artists followed the footsteps of singers like Bally Sagoo, Bali Brahmabhatt etc. who introduced it to music lovers with songs like “amma dekh tera munda bigda jaaye”, “aaja meri gaadi mein baith jaa” etc which were patronised by some newly formed music recording companies. Today’s “Love Rap” is written by Sameer and Anand-Milind are the music composers. This type was popular on dance floors then and the turn of the century has seen bhangda style songs ruling the air waves. Let us see what the new decade holds for music lovers.

Incidentally, January 1st happens to be Nana Patekars’ date of birth. He turns 70!!!! He has been around in the entertainment business since the ’70s with “Gaman” being his Hindi debut. Nana, along with Irrfan Khan (whom we lost last year, may his soul rest in peace) is the only actor to have won the Filmfare award in the categories of Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Villain. He has won 3 National Awards and is a Padma Shri too. He does a lot of charity without tom-toming about it. Here is wishing him health and happiness in future too.

Sahir Ludhianvi & His Music Directors-1 – (one movie collaboration only)
————————————————————————————

Welcome all to this post.

Some of you would be surprised to see a ‘Sahir’ related post here today again, because we celebrated Sahir yesterday on his ‘Remembrance Day’ and paid our tributes.

But today’s day is also important for us. It the birthday of one of the founding members of this blog and our beloved Raja Saab. So here is wishing Raja Saab a very happy birthday and ‘many many happy returns of the day’ and ‘healthy, peaceful and ‘full of music- life’ ahead.

And I am sure he is going to enjoy this song in ‘Punjabi’ folk based song as I am aware of his love for ‘Punjabi folk based’ songs.

Well he is also a Sahir fan so a song from Sahir. And he is Kaka fan too. So, we have Rajesh Khanna making an appearance in this song in the movie ‘Dhanwaan-1981’, and if I am correct, he lip-syncs the one stanza in Amit Kumar’s voice. But that is not covered in the video of the song though the audio version of this song is having it.

Not only that we have one more ‘celebration’ here today.

Regulars on the blog might be remembering that I had mentioned in my earlier post with the ‘couplet song’ ‘aap abhi ishq ki tehzeeb se aagaah nahin’ from ‘Dil Hi To Hai’ (1963), that I had prepared an excel sheet for Sahir and his music directors with the number of songs in the movies where Sahir Ludhianvi was lyricist and was going to share it with a new series.

But somehow this series got delayed and what a better occasion than today. Today we discuss Sahir’s association with music directors where they collaborated for only ‘one movie’ (or ‘only one song in some cases).

Today’s song is composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar from the ‘1981’ movie ‘Dhanwaan’.
And today 26th October’2020 (born on 26th October 1937) is the eighty-third birth anniversary of Hridaynath Mangeshkar. So here is wishing him too a very happy birthday and healthy and peaceful life ahead.

Coming to the list of music directors where Sahir had only one film association the list as given below; (I have tried to compile the details accurately as possible, and would request readers to bring to my notice if any mistake is there and forgive me for that error).

(*jageya jageya considered as two-part song)

Coming back to the today’s movie, Dhanwaan-1981” was directed by Surendra Mohan for ‘Film Nagar, Bombay’. It was produced by Sohanlal Kanwar.

This movie had Rajesh Khanna, Reena Roy, Rakesh Roshan, Shakti Kapoor, Pinchoo Kapoor, Vijayendra, Mazhar Khan (there were two persons with same name Mazhar Khan(reference-HFGK)), Aruna Irani, Birbal, Kamal Deep, Chandrashekhar, Ajit Kumar, S.N. Tripathi, Madhok Sharma, Baljeet Mineria, Master Vikas, Om Prakash and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 01.07.1981.

This movie had five songs (to be corrected on the blog) written by Sahir Ludhianvi and composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

Here is the list of songs as per their appearing order in HFGK Vol-VI (1981-1985). Four songs have already been posted on the blog;

Ho balle balle bhai reshmi dupatta waaliye … Being posted today

Last but not the least, to add the above celebrations, this movie ‘Dhanwaan-1981’ gets ‘Yippeeee’ed’ on the blog today with all its songs covered.

Let us now enjoy today’s ‘nok-jhonk’ song 😊 sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Mahendra Kapoor and Amit Kumar…

Mazhar Khan and Aruna Irani are lip syncing in the voices of Mahendra Kapoor and Lata Mangeshkar respectively. I guess that the Amit Kumar’s voice is for Rajesh Khanna who resolves the ‘nok-jhonk’ and make Aruna Irani accept the proposal of Mazhar Khan. However, the video for the Amit Kumar part is not available. The lyrics as per the audio link which is a longer version.

Let us now enjoy this foot tapping entertaining song. 😊

#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 106 # Tribute to Music Director Shankar #
——————————————————————————————–

Today 15th October is (15.10.1922) is ninety-eighth Birth Anniversary of the genius music director Shankar Singh Raghuvanshi or known popularly as Shankar of Shankar-Jaikishan duo.

He was born on 15th October’1922 at Hyderabad Deccan in the then state of Hyderabad.
And left this mortal world at the age of sixty-four on 26th April’1986 at Bombay.

As a tribute to him I am presenting a song from the 1977 movie ‘Duniyaadaari’.

One beautiful song from this movie has been posted on the blog on 15th October’2012 which was ‘naao kaaghaz ki gehraa hai paani’ …

As we are all aware the golden period of Shankar-Jaikishan was already over as the HFM embarked in the decade of seventies. The lot of R.D. Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji and many others were already producing chart burster music that was getting popular among the masses.

I would like to reproduce the ‘text’ here what Atul ji had said about Shankar-Jaikishan and the ending of their ‘era’ in his article while posting the first song of this movie ‘Duniyaadaari-1977’.

Shankar Jaikishan, the most dominant music directors during the golden era of Hindi movie music ruled the roost for two decades from 1949 to 1968 till R D Burman rose like a meteor and changed the rules of the game.

Many other developments took place during that time. One of those developments was that Jaikishan died in 1970 and that way the Shankar Jaikishan jodi was physically separated. Moreover, “Mera Naam Joker” (1970) flopped and after that Raj Kapoor made up his mind to overhaul his musical team making a clen break from his tried and trusted musical team of the past two decades.

Shankar continued to compose music under the name of Shankar Jaikishan. But the time passed, assignments from top banners gradually dried up and Shankar ended up composing music for lesser banners. His songs from mid 1970s onwards were not quite as popular as the music of his heydays.

Nevertheless, Shankar composed some memorable songs even in his second innings as a solo music director, even if they are not as well-known as the music of his earlier decades.

Today’s movie is one such movie whose songs are quite nice and were popular I think (since I have not watched this movie) and other notable movies to mention I think is ‘Sanyaasi-1975’ whose songs were heard everywhere on radio and loudspeakers. Songs of ‘Resham Ki Dori-1974’ were also nice songs if we consider them as composed by Shankar solely.

In the previous month while paying our tributes to Jaikishan on his Remembrance Day I had mentioned about the year 1971 and had wrote that; -“Shankar Jaikishan ruled the music charts in 1971 with their ‘Zindagi ek safar hai suhaana’ ranking top of the annual ‘Binaca Geetmala’ list. ”

In 1971 Shankar Jaikishan composed music for as many as seventeen movies out of 115 released movies that year. Moreover there was an un-released movie as well viz. ‘Bombay Talkie-1971’ making it a total of eighteen movies for the year for Shankar Jaikishan.

That was for 1971. Let us now have a look on the number of movies in which the name of Shankar-Jaikishan appeared as Music Director from 1972 to till 1977.
(we will again have a look on their filmography from 1978 to 1986 in future posts).

Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Usha Mangeshkar, Amit Kumar and Shobha Gurtu (and Anwar, Khan Saheb and Naseem Chopda as mentioned in HFGK, not mentioned in the titles of the movie)

Music is composed by Shankar-Jaikishan.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 22.10.1977.

Let us now enjoy today’s song … On screen Asrani and Aruna Irani are performing and lip syncing the song in the voices of Amit Kumar and Asha Bhonsle respectively.

The song was embedded deep in my subconscious memory and I had forgotten about it. It was only during last year when I was in Kenya that at some instance I broke into humming (singing could also be the correct word? 😊 ). After that I looked for its details and got to know that it is from this movie ‘Duniyaadaari-1977’.

Let us now enjoy this song and pay our tributes to the genius music director Shankar today. I hope you will enjoy today’s song …

I would also request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.

(Note: – for those interested to watch this movie, it is slated for premier on ‘YouTube’ on 31.10.2020)

haan aa

Today 21st July’2020 is the ninetieth birth anniversary of lyricist Anand Bakshi (born on 21 July 1930, he passed away on 30th March 2002). As a tribute to him here is a song written by him from the 1982 movie ‘Insaan’.

“Insaan-1982” was directed by Narinder Bedi for ‘Mukesh Movies Pvt Ltd’. Narinder Bedi also wrote the screenplay of this movie.

This movie was produced by Ved Khanna. It had Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Reena Roy and Amjad Khan. They were supported by Shyama, Late Karan Diwan, Narendra Nath, Sudhir, Kishore Jariwala, Asit Sen, Roopesh Kumar, Viju Khote, Pannu Balouch, Dev Kishan, Jayshree T., Meena Roy, Dulari, Birbal, Amrit Pal, G.S. Aassie, Dhanalal, Misrilal, Narbada Shankar, Sharma, Thakurdas T., Moolchand. Aruna Irani made a special appearance in this movie and the movie introduced Master Sameer.

Story of this movie was written by Veena Bedi. Dialogues of this movie were written by Rajinder Singh Bedi. Scenario writer of this movie was Satish Bhatnagar.

Editing of this movie was done by Waman Bhonsle and Gurudutt Shirali. Dev Kishan was the dialogue director of this movie. Robin Bhatt was the chief assistant director and Dilip Kotalgi was the chief assistant editor of this movie.

This movie had total six songs including one multiple version song (which is being presented today). All the songs were written by Anand Bakshi and music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Background music for this movie was given by Sapan-Jagmohan.

Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Shailendra Singh and Amit Kumar had given their voices to the songs in this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 15.05.1982.

Today’s song is sung Kishore Kumar and second version or rather the sad version is sung by Amit Kumar. I had not watched this movie so can’t say much about the movie and its box office performance. However, I became aware of this song in 1987-89 when I bought a audio cassette of Amit Kumar ‘hits’ by HMV. But only the sad version of this song was there in this cassette. Later when I started contributing lyrics to this blog in 2012-2013, I came across the Kishore Kumar version or a happy version of this song. I like this song very much as it comes from my favorite category of ‘motivational-philosophical songs’ 😊

The meaningful lyrics are by Anand Bakshi. The happy version is picturized on Jeetendra with Master Sameer also seen in the picturization of this song. I am not aware of the picturization of the sad version of this song.

With this song ‘Insaan-1982’ makes its debut on the blog. And that also serves the ‘mission’ of bringing ‘movies with same titles’ on the blog. So far, we have ‘Insaan-1944’ and ‘Insaan-1952’ already introduced on the blog.

Your sincerely also had a part in sharing the song from ‘Insaan-1952’ three years back on the blog. As per HFGK one more movie with same title was released in ‘2005’ too.

If we have look on the annual list of ‘Binaca Geetmala’ of the year 1982 we can see as many as five songs from Anand Bakshi and Laxmikant-Pyarelal making it to the annual list then. The movies were ‘Ek Hi Bhool-1981’, ‘Fifty-Fifty-1981’(2 songs), ‘Raaste Pyaar Ke-1982’(2 songs), ‘Desh Premee-1982’, ‘Apnaa Banaa Lo-1982’, however the top six songs were by other lyricist and on the ‘top of the list’ was Majrooh Sultanpuri’s ‘angrezi mein kehti hain ke’ from ‘Khuddaar-1982’.

Let us now enjoy the beautiful lyrics of Anand Bakshi and the composition of Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Zarina Wahab, born this day in 1959, turns 61 today.

My first introduction to this actress of pronounced and natural underplay, was ‘Chit Chor’ of 1976. Yes, for a brief time, the phrase used for her was ‘Chit Chor Girl’. The debut was impressive and the performance in ‘Chit Chor’ was followed up in 1977 with another superb performance in the film ‘Gharonda’.

In both films, she plays the role of the typical girl next door, who wins your heart with an understatement of her performance as the young coming of age heroine, and her first encounter with love. These two assays, the Geeta of ‘Chit Chor’ and Chhaaya of ‘Gharonda’, quite adequately define for me, the accomplished actress she is.

This song is from the 1995 film ‘Mera Damaad’, almost two decades into her career. The film had a good successful run at the box office, as a comedy of mixed up intents and identities of young hearts seeking their first love.

The film is directed by Partho Ghosh. The lead pair in the film is Zarina Wahab and Farooque Sheikh and the rest of the cast includes Utpal Dutt, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Bedi, Rakesh Bedi, Prema Narayan, Jankidas, Bhagwan Dada, Tarique, Priyadarshini, Parvin Paul, Abha Mukherjee, Khokha Mukherjee, Brahmachari, Kukku Saigal, Jagannath Prabhu, Balraj, Master Romel Kaul, and Baby Nivedita.

The music director for the film is Salil Chaudhry, and this song is penned by Yogesh.

Wishing Zarina a very happy birthday, with greetings for good healty, peace and many more such celebrations in the coming years.

The lyrics of this song have been sent in by our dear Prakash ji.

Song – Jhir Jhir Barse Aaj Gagan Se Ye Kaise Baadal  (Mera Damaad) (1995) Singer – Amit Kumar, Anuradha Paudhwal, Shailendra Singh, Sabita Chowdhury, Lyrics – Yogesh, MD – Salil Chaudhry

Lyrics (Provided by Prakashchandra)

jhir jhir barse

jhir jhir barse
aaj gagan se

dekho

tera meraa sang hai
dekho
madhosh mausam gaa rahaa hai ae
chhalkaa huaa rang hai
naye
albele raaston par
tera meraa sang hai

rehnaa meraa aanchal
jhir jhir barse
aaj gagan se
yeh kaisse baadal

bheegey
bheegey badan mein bhi aaj kaissi
jalne lagi hai aggan
jaane abke baras kaissi
chalne lagi hai pawan
bheegey
bheegey badan mein bhi aaj kaissi
jalne lagi hai aggan
jaane abke baras kaissi
chalne lagi hai pawan
mere armaan huye paagal

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 40
——————————————————————————

Ten years back on 06.07.2010 three songs from three movies were represented on the blog:-

Song Movie title-Year Remarks
Gori hain kalaayiyaan tu lade mujhe hari hari choodiyaan Aaj Ka Arjun-1990 02 songs posted
Sajna mera dil tera dil gayaa mil Jhoola-1962 All songs covered
Piyaa piyaa naa laage moraa jiyaa Phagun-1958 All songs covered

Two movies ‘Jhoola-1962’ and ‘Phagun-1958’ have already been YIPPEED, so we have only one movie viz. ‘Aaj Ka Arjun-1990’ which is eligible for ‘blog ten-year challenge’ today (6 july 2020).

I remember that I was staying at Kota (Rajasthan) when this movie ‘Aaj Ka Arjun’ was released. Two of its songs had become very much popular. The song ‘chali aana tu paan ki dukaan pe’ was played on cassette-recorder in every ‘paan-shop’ in the ‘gali’ and ‘nukkad’ 😊 while the other song ‘gori hain kalaayiyaan’ was also played and could be heard everywhere (specially in Rajasthan).

Befittingly these two songs have already been covered on the blog. It proves that the same two songs were considered the most popular by the editor of the blog as well. 🙂

Gori hain kalaayiyaan tu lade mujhe hari hari choodiyaan 06.07.2010

I had never watched this movie (for me it was a ‘No Amitabh movie’ years those days), so when our Prakash ji sent the lyrics of the today’s song, I had no recollections of having listening to this song. Other than the above mentioned two songs of this movie I was not aware of remember any other songs of this movie. However, when I listened to today’s song, I liked it. I may have heard this song in the past but the song may have failed to register with me in the past.

This song is in two versions- one is sung by Amit Kumar and the other by Lata Mangeshkar.

“Aaj Ka Arjun-1990” was directed by K.C. Bokadia for BMB Productions. K.C. Bokadia was also the producer of this movie. It had Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada, Radhika, Suresh Oberoi, Kiran Kumar and Amrish Puri. The movie introduced Rishabh Shukla on the big screen.

Asrani and Anupam Kher make special appearance in this movie. The above cast was supported by Preeti Sapru, Baby Guddu, Bramhachari, Praveen Kumar, Anirudh Agarwal, Junior Mehmood, Ram Kumar and Vikas Anand.

Story of this movie was written by P. Vasu and screenplay was written by Santosh Saroj. Dialogues of this movie were written by Anirudh Tiwari. Saroj Khan and Chinni Prakash were the choreographers for this movie. Editing of this movie was done by M.S. Shinde.

Lata Mangeshkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Shabbir Kumar, Mohd Aziz and Amit Kumar had given their voices to the songs in this movie. Anjaan was the lyricist for the songs in this movie and music was composed by Bappi Lahiri.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 03.08.1990.

Let us now listen to today’s multiple version song. It is sung by Amit Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. Lyrics are by Anjaan and music is composed by Bappi Lahiri.

Lyrics of this song were sent by Prakashchandra.

Main ik panchhi matwaalaa re …

In this case we have a ‘reverse’ ‘repetition of song’ of a Hindi movie, i.e. reverse repetition on our blog 😊 where the new song was posted first and older will be covered here. 😊

– The song has been posted on the blog under the movie ‘Mamta Ki Chhaaon Mein-1989’ and it has also been mentioned there that it was recorded for ‘Door Ka Raahi-1971’ …

1) When it was recorded for ‘Door Ka Raahi-1971’, Amit Kumar (born on 3rd July’1952) must be around 17-18 yrs old.

2) The songs/soundtracks listing of ‘Door Ka Raahi-1971’ included this song, which is also mentioned in HFGK, so technically we need to include this song, the recording which was done when the singer was ‘Amit Ganguly’, on the blog.

3) Then, this song has a second stanza (which TILL NOW has not been mentioned or posted on the blog) and the full song is given below.

4) When the same song was recorded for ‘Mamta Ki Chhaaon Mein-1989’, it was recorded again and it was not the same recording from ‘Door Ka Raahi-1971’. The age of Amit Kumar (now he was Amit Kumar) at the time of second recording must be around 32-34 yrs, so here the voice is more matured now and I think the ‘length of the ‘sur’s’ too.

5) The song in ‘Mamta Ki Chhaaon Mein-1989’ has an additional second stanza as given in this audio link. The link of this song and the earlier song has also been posted by our ‘passionate favorite’ team members, but so far, they do not mention about the second stanza: –

There is onlyone difference in the lyrics at one place highlighted in red.

‘ghor ghataa chhaaye, chaahye bijlee
daraayein’
‘ghor ghataa chhaaye, chaahye bijuri daraayein’

Song-Main ik panchhi matwaala re (Door Ka Raahi)(1971) Singer-Amit Kumar, Lyrics-Kishore Kumar, MD-Kishore Kumar

Lyrics

main ik panchhi matwaala re ae ae ae
matwaala aur niraala re ae
mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re

main ik panchhi matwaala re ae ae ae
matwaala aur niraala re ae
mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re

door gagan ka panchhi hoon main
door thhikaana mera aa
door gagan ka panchhi hoon main
door thhikaana mera aa
is bagiyaa ki daal pe mera
ik pal rain basera aa
hichkoley khaaun
chah-chahaaun
gungunaaun
baadlon ke sang sang
ud ud jaaun
main apne aap mein bhoolaa re
matwaala aur niraala re ae
mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re

toofaanon ka paalaa hoon main
aandhiyon mein khelaa aa
toofaanon ka paalaa hoon main
aandhiyon mein khelaa aa
taan ke seenaa udoon gagan mein
har mushqil ko jhelaa aa
ghor ghataa chhaaye
chaahye bijlee daraayein
badhhtaa chaloon main
lehraaye bal khaaye ae
main dhoop chhaaon mein
khelaa re ae ae
matwaala aur niraala re ae
mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re

mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re
mera is duniyaa ke baagh mein
aanaa jaana re

Blog Day :

4368 Post No. : 15698 Movie Count :

4328

Today 3rd July 2020 is the sixty-eighth birth anniversary (born on 3rd July 1952) of Singer Amit Kumar Ganguly or Amit Kumar.

On this occasion here is a song from the movie ‘Swarthi-1986’ sung by him.

“Swarthi-1986” was directed by Radhakant for ‘Filmnagar’. It was produced by Sohanlal Kanwar. Smt. Vijayalaxmi was the co-producer of this movie. It had Suresh Oberoi, Neeta Mehta, Shafi Inamdar, Komal Mahuvakar, Aruna Irani, Paintal, with Anupam Kher, supported by Chand Usmani, Arun Mathur, Baba, Vandana Shastri, Sunanda, Rana Jung Bahadur, Tulsi, Manjit Sikhwal, Kaka, Malik, Sehgal, Ashok Saxena, Amar Nath and Alka Noopur and others.

Story of this movie was written by Ram Kelkar. Editing of this movie was done by Satpal Suri and Narinder Arora.

This movie had six songs (including one multiple version song). Lyrics of these songs for this movie were written by M.G. Hashmat (four songs, including one multiple version song), Vishweshvar Sharma and Dilip Tahir (one song each). Music was composed by Sapan Jagmohan.

Amit Kumar, Anuradha Paudwal and Suresh Wadkar had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Today’s song is written by M.G. Hashmat and sung by Amit Kumar. Sapan Jagmohan is the composer as mentioned above.

Let us now enjoy this entertaining song. Lyrics of this song were sent by Prakashchandra. Only audio of this song is available and my guess is that it must have been lip synced by Suresh Oberoi the hero of this movie. The other details of this movie are taken from the ‘titles’ of the movie available on YT link. However, the date of passing by Censor Board of this movie could not be confirmed.

When Prakash ji had sent this song, he had put a question mark against the year-1985/1986- of this movie and that prompted me to check for this movie details. However, since this movie is not mentioned in the HFGK Vol-VI (1981-1985) I guess the year of the release of this movie is 1986. I was also not aware of this movie name or its songs. And I was listening to this song first time, I think. Amit Kumar has sung the song in his style with gusto and it’s a nice song to enjoy. 😊

With this song ‘Swarthi-1986’ makes its debut on the blog. …
