Meri kahaani bhoolne waale

Posted on: April 26, 2009

“Deedaar” (1951) was a movie starring Dilip Kumar and Nargis. The movie had some nice songs written by Shakeel Badayuni and composed by Naushad.

Here is a song from this movie. “Meri kahaani bhoolne waale” is a song sung by Rafi and picturised on Dilip Kumar and Nargis. Dilip Kumar sings this song hoping to convety to her the message contained in the song, but she is not paying attention to the lyrics of the song and so misses the message altogether, it would appear to me.

Song-Meri kahaani bhoolne waale (Deedaar) (1951) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics- Shakeel Badayuni, MD- Naushad

Lyrics

meri kahaani bhoolne waale
meri kahaani bhoolne waale
teraa jahaan aabaad rahe,
meri kahaani
teri khushi par main mit jaauun
duniyaa meri barbaad rahe
meri kahaani

mere geet sune duniyaa ne magar
meraa dard koyi na jaan sakaa
na jaan sakaa
ik teraa sahaaraa thaa dil ko
ik teraa sahaaraa thaa
tu bhi na mujhe pahchaan sakaa
tu bhi na mujhe pahchaan sakaa
bachpan ke wo geet puraane aaj tujhe na yaad rahe
meri kahaani

main apnaa fasaanaa kah na sakaa
mere dil ki tamannaa dil mein rahi
lo aaj kinaare par
lo aaj kinaare par aake
armaanon ki kashti doob gayi
armaanon ki kashti doob gayi
qismat ko manzoor yahi thaa lab pe mere fariyaad rahe
meri kahaani
meri kahaani bhoolne waale
teraa jahaan aabaad rahe

Here is a clip of live program of Rafiji with Naushadji on Doordarshan. With so much ease he is singing!
