Khaayi hai re hamne qasam sang rahne ki

I have posted a few songs from “Talaash” (1969) already and I mentioned that Lata was perhaps at her best while singing the songs of this movie.
Guess what ? I was not aware that “Khaai hai re hamne qasam sang rahne ki” was also from “Talaash”. I have always regarded this as one of the greatest songs sung by Lata. Now that I know that this song too is from “Talaash”, my earlier assertion about Lata being at her very best while singing for this movie stands further vindicated.
What an amazing singing. At the same time one cannot forget the lyrics o Majrooh Sultanpuri and indeed the awesome music of S D Burman. What a gem of a song this is !
This song was picturised on Sharmila Tagore and Rajendra Kumar. Sharmila Tagore tries hard to dance in this song but she was not much of a dancer. The song of course is in a class of its own.
