Panchhi re o panchhi ud jaa re o panchhi

TV serial makers these days tend to take the title of some old movie and use it as the title of their serials. “Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi”, for instance, was a movie of the same name in 1970. Similarly, “Hare kaanch ki choodiyaan” was a movie of 1967.
Here is a song from this movie called “Hare kaanch ki choodiyaan” (1967). It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. Shailendra wrote the lyrics and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.
This song was picturised on Vishwajeet and Naina Sahu. Naina Sahu was a relative of the producer of this movie, and this was her first and last movie.

Lyrics
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
ham kareeb aa gaye
manzilon ko paa gaye
ham kareeb aa gaye
manzilon ko paa gaye
bhaa gaya hamen koyi
ham kisi ko bhaa gaye
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
gaa rahi hai zindagi man ke surbahaar pe
gaa rahi hai zindagi man ke surbahaar pe
aa asmaan pe chaayenge ab ye geet pyaar ke
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
ye milan ki ragini
ek main aur ek wo
ye milan ki ragini
ek main aur ek wo
mil gaye ek ho gaye
aaj ham nahin hain do
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
mat ched tu ye taraane
ho jaayen na do dil deewaane
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi
Panchhi re o panchhi ud ja re o panchhi

I had seen this film when released in 1967. All I can now remember of this film is the well picturised Asha Bhosle song ‘Dhani chunari pahan…’ ( not yet discussed here).
By the way, Naina Sahu also acted in PUSHPANJALI (1970), probably her last Hindi film.
