Stumbling upon songs that I never heard before is nothing new for me. But it looks like this stumbling is something different. I have really stumbled upon a rich vein of old classics this time.
I have posted the memorable “aana meri jaan sunday ke sunday” from “Shehnaayi” (1947) in the past. I had only posted the audio since its video was not available at that time. Yesterday I discovered its video too. That was like a dream coming true, and I have now included the video of this song in that post.
But that was not all. Now I have found another fantastic song from the same movie. This song must be one of the most memorable “rail” songs composed in Bollywood. It is a pity that this song could not attain the same popularity as “aana meri jaan sunday ke sunday”. I listened to this “jawaani ki rail” song for the first time just one hour ago, and I am hooked.
Here is this gem of the highest order for the listening and viewing pleasure of music lovers. And my kudos and thanks to the person who has uploaded such timeless classics.
This song is sung by C Ramchandra, Shamshad Begum and Lata. P L Santoshi is the lyricist and C Ramchandra has composed the music.
It is an amazing find, and I am sure everyone will enjoy listening to this song.

It is not Lata but Geeta Dutt. Yes, the male dancer is Mumtaz Ali, father of the famous comedian – Mehmood —

Indeed this is an excellent song. Richard posted it on his blog today as a tribute to the Year 1947. I immediately wanted to write it up on your blog. I find ALL the songs of this film are covered. What a fabulous music. I am off to advertise this song on as many platforms as I can find.
