I stumble upon so many “new” songs from yesteryears that I have stopped getting surprised. I am just pleased every time I get to listen to such songs for the first time.
In many cases, the movies to which these songs belong are equally, if not more, obscure.
This song “dabe labon se kabhi jo koyi” is a rare song where Lata and Asha Bhonsle sing together. The movie is called “Biwi aur Makaan” (1966). Gulzar wrote the lyrics and music was composed by Hemant Kumar.
Any idea who are the two ladies on which this song has been picturised ?
The song itself is very nice to listen to.

saw the marathi version of this movie last night-“Ashi hi banwa banwi” directed by Sachin; starring Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde, Sachin and Sushant (also called Siddharath) Ray. then i did some search on it and found it was a direct remake of this movie “Biwi aur Makaan”. now on revisiting this song i feel Ashok Saraf redid Mehmood and Sachin was as cute a lady as Biswajeet. 😉
my resolve for the day see the Hindi version if possible.

just heard the song all over again.
“suni thi kahaani pariyon se
suni thi kahaani pariyon se”
should be
“suni thi kahaani kaviyon se
suni thi kahaani kaviyon se”
Kalpana also indicates a writer by her action when she sings the line.
Atulji please recheck and correct the lyrics

the one who starts the song is Kalpana (I think). the one who was in “Professor” with Shammi Kapoor.
