In olden days, Indians subscribed to very simplistic philosophies. One such philosophy was “Likhoge padhoge banoge nawab, khologe koodege hoge kharaab” ( Rough translation-Studies will make your life, sports will mar it) .

Such songs may sound like preaching or moralising in today’s world, but the messages carried in such idealistic songs were actually taken seriously those days.

This song is written by Hasrat Jaipuri and composed by Khayyam.This song is sung by Rafi and Lata and picturised on Honey Irani and Sheikh Mukhtar and these actors get to utter a few words too, and thus they become eligible to be described as singers of this song. This song is from a movie called “Barood” (1960)

can u give the lyrics of nani teri morni ko mor le gayi… i don’t know from which film it is…. can u send it by tomorrow… got to prepare for a function.

While searching for the link of the above song, which was not working, i found this part -2 of this song, wherein Sudhir and Kumkum are lip syncing to Rafi & Lata’s voice respectively, while searching for Honey Irani (hope I am correct),
This part-2 has a repeat of stanza 3- ban ke bahadur … of part -1 and one extra stanza which is given below the link ;

With this multiple version the total no of songs of this film should be Eight.
I think correction is required in HFGK which mentions ‘aise na munh chhupaao..’ , wrongly as part-2 (of the song likho padhoge) , whereas ‘aise na munh chhupaao’ is totally a different song.
