Ban ke panchhi gaaye pyaar ka taraana
Posted on: August 6, 2009
I have posted several songs from “Anaadi” (1959) in this blog, but even I was not aware of this song. I have listened to this song for the first time just today, viz 50 years after this song was created.
This song, sung by Lata and picturised on Nutan and others is a bicycle song. It is written by Hasrat Jaipuri and music is by Shankar Jaikishan.
It is a nice, feel good song. I wonder how I missed listening to this song in the past. But it is better late than never.

Lyrics
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
to jhoomen ye dharti aur jhoome aasmaan
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
to jhoomen ye dharti aur jhoome aasmaan
ho o o
ho o o
aayin haseenon ki toliyaan
aa haa haa
aayin haseenon ki toliyaan
aa haa haa
bolen piyaa-milan ki boliyaan
manzil pe aaye koyi nainaa milaaye koyi
bhar de ye ulfat ki jholiyaan
manzil pe aaye koyi nainaa milaaye koyi
bhar de ye ulfat ki jholiyaan
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
to jhoomen ye dharti aur jhoome aasmaan
kheton pe chhaayin jawaaniyaan
aa haa haa
kheton pe chhaayin jawaaniyaan
aa haa haa
patton pe likhin kahaaniyaan
phoolon ki daal jaise rangeen roomaal
koyi de-de hamen bhi nishaaniyaan
phoolon ki daal jaise rangeen roomaal
koyi de-de hamen bhi nishaaniyaan
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
ban ke panchhi gaayen pyaar kaa taraanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
mil jaaye agar aaj koyi saathi mastaanaa
to jhoomen ye dharti aur jhoome aasmaan

I forgot to add in my earlier request that:
Before The first Male chorus Ho Ho Ho
the lines by the female singer was:
Dekhiye Bapuji Daye Bhaye.
Then The Male Sings Ho Ho Ho.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Thomas:
If you have not yet got an answer for your query (and that is surprising, considering the vast knowledge of the regulars of this blog), the song is probably
“piiche piiche aakar”
Sung by Lata and Hemant (Hemant goes Ho Ho Ho etc)
Music by Sachin Dev Burman
Lyrics Sahir Ludhianvi
Movie house no 44
Year (possibly) 1955
First issue : there was no bullock cart (or any other cart) in this song sequence.
Second issue : Hemant Da was an accomplished singer in his own right – and this is not his ONLY song.
Cheers!

HASLIM ALA HAIN song on u tube-from film shabnum .
My question is what are those instruments called which she holds in both hands and by hitting each other makes a lot of nice sounds.
I think the NorthIndian sadhus use the same when they sing religious songs.

Requesting your help to locate a song:
Hero and Heroin travelling on a Horse cart or bullock cart or Rickshaw- the lady does all the singing except the male singer sings only like a chorus after 3 or 4 lines from the female singer- first male line-Ho Ho Ho
Second Male Line ha Ha ha
Third possibly Hey Hey Hey.
I believe the male lines were sung by the Music Director or film dfirector himself and those are the lives he ever sang.I possibly read it on your web page- but cannot remember any more details.Plesase e-mail me a link in case you can locate that song.My e-mail: thomaspara11@yahoo.com– all in small leters. THANKS.
