Here is an energetic song from “Coolie” (1983) that will cheer its listeners up. The prerequisite to enjoying this song is that one should not look for logic in the plot of the movie and enjoy the songs in isolation for their fun value. not as a part of the movie.
This song is written by Anand Bakshi and its music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The song is sung with gusto by Shabbir Kumar ( with a few lines by Anuradha Paudwal too). Shabbir Kumar has done a very good job in his attempt to sing a song in Rafi style. Of course, Rafi was not around at that time, as he had passed away in 1980.
This song is picturised on Amitabh Bachchan and Rati Agnihotri. It is a nice fun song indeed.

Oops. slip of the finger.
Yes, Amitabh’s injury was treated as a national calamity and he was battling for his life,according to the news reports of that time.

The song may be fun for some, but those were the days when Bollywood music was at its nadir. The earlier fun songs were really fun, but the songs in the Amitabh era were ghisa-pita at times!
I’d take today’s music any day to these songs – I think you should consider them, they are truly global and sophisticated in their treatment at times.
