“Kyaa ye Bombay hai ?” (1959) is as obscure a movie as any. This C grade movie had Maruti and Nishi in lead roles.
The music of this movie is equally obscure. But that should not be the case. The music of this movie is refreshingly different. It is just that the audience at that time were perhaps not ready for this kind of music.
Yes, this movie had western music in it and the lyrics were lighthearted.
I have posted one such song in this song already which was sung by Rafi. Here is a duet this time. It is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Maruti and Nishi. Bipin Dutta is the music director and Noor Devasi is the lyricist.
The song is funny and listening to this song is sure to chher up its listeners.

I think this has become my new favourite song. Heard it for the first time this morning and I really LOVE it. The tune, the words, the dancing. Everything is so much fun. A little bit of influence of “CAT Cat, cat maane billi” but I am not complaining. 🙂
