Here is a very very old song from pre independence days when Noorjahaan still ruled the roost in Bollywood movie scene. Here is a song from a movie called “Dost” (1944). This song was very popular in its time.
The song is written by Shams Lucknowi. Sajjad Hussain composed the music. Only the audio of this song is available, but it can safely be assumed that this song was picturised on Noorjahaan herself.

Three songs of film Gali’ were composed by Sajjad Hussain but not as an assistant of Pundit Hanuman Prashadji but in his own right as an independent composer.The third song was a duet in the voices of Nirmala Devi and Karan Dewan.
There were three beautiful songs in Dost which were not recorded for gramophone. Actually the best song of the movie was a dadra in the voice of Vatsala Bai Kumthikar’ ‘ Chhid gayoo manwa hammar nainan se

Nannand ka baaiya, banka sanwariya
ree ley gayoo man ka krarar nainan se
Then there was a duet of Noor Jehan and Motilal’ Sitaro yeh paigham unko sunnanan.’and solo by Zohra Bai ‘Peene peena peena.’
Then Sajjad Hussain left the movie without recording back-ground music, which was recoded by Shanti Kumar.
I have the privilege of having the sample records of Noor Jehan from film DOST recorded on one side only for approval of the music director before issuing in the market.

Delivery of the song with a pause after ‘Badnam’ is real ear catching.
The songs of this movie were very popular that time.
Before his ths debut movie ‘Dost’ movie Sajjad Hussain gave music for two songs of Galli(1944).But then he was not given credit for the same as he was assisstant to Pt. Hanuman Prasad.
I request Atul to find these two songs to find and post here for us.
1.Aag laghe sawn mein
2.Ab Aaja dil na laghey.
In my knowledge both of these songs were sung by Nirmala Devi(mother of actor Govinda).
