Wow! What a sweet melodious song. I may have heard this song ealier, but only in passing and without paying close attention. This time, I listened to this song attentively and then wondered if this has to be one of the sweetest songs sung by Lata. If there are sweeeter songs still, I will definitely like to listen to them too.
Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist and Chitragupta is the music director. This song just shows how good Chitragupta was .Chitragupta kept a low profile and would not meet with biggies in industry, and that is what came in the way of him getting bigger banners. It is difficult to believe but it is true that Chitragupta never once met Raj Kapoor before late 1980s. When Raj Kapoor was introduced to Chitragupta in late 1980s by Anand and Milind (sons of Chitragupta) in a party, Raj Kapoor stated that he was a fan of Chitragupta’s music and had Chitragupta met him when they were both active in Bollywood, he would have definitely loved to work with Chitragupta.
This song is from “Akashdeep” (1965) and it is picturised nicely on Nimmi.

An ultimate song where Lata has blended whisper/husk in her voice. It could be the only song of this quality by Lata.

I have always loved this song. It is just such a beautiful song and Lata does a great job here.
