Dil ki mehfil sazi hai chale aayiye

This movie “Saaz aur Aawaaz” (1966) failed to click at the box office, and it meant that the songs of this movie did not get as much exposure as they would have got had the movie succeeded.
I personally do not recall having heard the songs of this movie. I became aware abou the songs of this movie thanks to the farmaishes of Lalitha.
Here is a song from this movie which I heard for the first time only today. It is a nice song to listen to. It is sung by Rafi and picturised on Joy Mukherji. Naushad is the music director. Khumar Barabankwi is the lyricist. I was not aware that Khumar Barabankwi (known for “Tasweer banaataa hoon tasweer nahin banti” written in 1950s) was still around in 1960s.
It is a lovely song, and I have now found that this movie in fact has quite a few lovely song that I need to post here.
